Helmsley Triathlon & SwimRun

Helmsley Triathlon & SwimRun In 2019 to celebrate the pool's 50th anniversary, we held our first Triathlon and SwimRun.

We wanted to build upon our popular Aquathlon series and share our beautiful National Park location -with all proceeds going towards the pool.

Usually the triathlon follows the Aquathlon series but this year it is the other way round.

Just when you thought it was safe to come swimming without the prospect of multi sport carnage - the next 3 Tuesday evenings offer you the opportunity to get fitter, faster and stronger with the added bonus of potentially being humiliated by your offspring as they beat your time doing the same distance.

Please go to our booking page to enter - the first one is Tues evening 28th July https://www.helmsleyopenairpool.org/

The Run - 10k and hilly but everyone managed lots of smiles. We would like to thank Easingwold Running Club for lending us their signs for the run route - we particularly like the 'enjoy the view' one, which had to go at 'the Riccaldale Summit', although as you'll see there are lots of lovely views out on the course.

Easingwold Running Club organise the Easingwold 10k & Family Fun Day - it's the 26th July and a fab route, for more info and to sign up https://www.easingwoldrunningclub.co.uk/10k

Big thank you to all the run marshals and of course 1st Malton Scout Group who reprised their role at the first water station with options of handing out cups of water or the more direct hydration approach of the supersoaker!

First timer Megan - sorry for all the pics but, the last person to start was always going to get a bit more focus from our fab photographers!

A massive thank you to Julie and Graham from What's My Time Ltd who have brought our event into the 21st Century with Chip Timing. Please find all the results here https://www.whatsmytimeresults.co.uk/results.aspx?CId=17047&RId=6460&EId=1&dt=0
To make chip timing viable we needed to increase the numbers taking part and we are well on the way to doing that with 100 entries in 2025 and 120 this year. The photographs from John and the team are in and we can't wait to share them with you over the coming days - it certainly looks like it was our 'smiliest' event ever - or were those grimaces?
