Helmsdale Community Centre is operated on behalf of the community by Helmsdale & District Community Association.

The community centre is also home to the Helmsdale & District Development Trust office, Dementia Friendly Communities - CIC office, Helmsdale Community Transport and Helmsdale Library. The centre has a range of meeting facilities and regularly hosts community events and sporting activities in our rooms and sports hall.

A huge Merry Christmas to our incredible community! 🌟

This year, as we celebrate the season, we do so with heavy hearts, remembering our former chairman, Garry. His dedication to making our centre a welcoming place for all is a light that continues to shine brightly.

We want to give a special shout-out to all our dedicated volunteers who have given countless hours of their time throughout the year to help with our Community Food Larder, Christmas Lights and Christmas Meal.

Synopsis
Join Clara at a delightful Christmas Eve party that becomes a magical adventure once everyone else is tucked up in bed. Marvel at the brilliance of Tchaikovsky’s score, as Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker fight the Mouse King and visit the Sugar Plum Fairy in the glittering Kingdom of Sweets. Peter Wright’s much-loved production for The Royal Ballet, with gorgeous period designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman, keeps true to the spirit of this festive ballet classic, combining the thrill of the fairy tale with spectacular dancing.

🙌Hands up if you’ve missed the Co-op! 🙌
Fridges are jam packed with sandwiches and wraps so please pop in to the larder between 10am-11am Thursday morning!
There’s also flowers, bread and baking, plus all our usual food larder items, including apples, carrots and baking potatoes 💐🍞🧁🥕🍎🥔

The magician Herr Drosselmeyer needs to save his nephew. Hans-Peter has been transformed into a Nutcracker; the only way to save him is for the Nutcracker to defeat the Mouse King and find a girl to love and care for him. A flicker of hope comes in the form of the young Clara, whom Drosselmeyer meets at a Christmas party. With some magic, a cosy Christmas gathering turns into a marvellous adventure.
