Frolicked is an outdoor, puppet-orientated theatre company touring across Europe with engaging walkabout characters and magical static and site specific shows. Frolicked create unique and intimate experiences for all kinds of unusual spaces and places, with memorable, beautifully illustrated, self-made puppets and performances. We have created puppet interventions for a variety of UK locations, in

cluding a ghost for the Bronte Museum in Haworth and an usher for the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. In 2010, we were commissioned by Lakes Alive (with support from the Arts Council) to produce an encounter with a collection of incredibly rare birds as part of a darkly different nature trail in woodlands across the North of England. Last year, we were one of ten companies chosen to perform as part of ‘Gone in 20 Minutes’; a programme in which we showcased our latest work at Create Festival in London and at Stockton International Riverside Festival. Our shows are almost always improvised, heavily interactive and intimate experiences... Have you ever been Frolicked? Frolicked is run by puppet maker and performer, Beka Haigh.

If there weren't enough reasons to come to Beverley Puppet Festival , this is one more. The lovely Hacker T Dog ( Phil Fletcher Puppeteer/Puppet Builder ) joined Gil Burns and director Beka for a brief but bloomin' beautiful chin wag after our shows today. After all, we're just normal puppeteers...

We've been working on a new show called , very kindly supported by Arts Council England and IOU Creation Centre. We're excited to announce that the premiere of the newest version of the piece will be presented this coming week (Thursday evening) at IOU's space in Halifax.

There are 8 sets of artists presenting work, so it promises to be an evening full of creativity and surprises. Please feel free to come and take part. Hope to see you there!

Presented as part of Calderdale's vibrant year of culture celebrations, the showcase offers a unique glimpse into boundary-pushing creations from the region's finest talents commissioned in 2023 to develop new projects.

Eight artists present an array of new works. Discover a mesmerising ‘Salon of Curlews,’ an immersive haunted house experience, VR explorations of retinal landscapes, folklore zines, intricately hand-woven artworks, and IOU's giant mobile sculpture, The Wheel. Themes of environment, belonging, and identity are entwined throughout the installations, launching the IOU Creation Centre with a six-week journey of artistic discovery.
