Cycling and Transition Skills Sessions

This will be a six-week programme, ideal for those preparing for their first triathlon or season racers who want to develop their bike handling and transition skills further.
The programme will be run at the bespoke traffic free cycle track at Forge Valley School, Wood Lane, Sheffield, S6 5HG, providing a safe off-road space for developing skills and confidence.
Over the 6 week programme you will cover
Transition skills - transition set up, mounting, dismounting and running with the bike
Bike skills - basic bike set up and safety checks, use of gears
Bike handling - braking, cornering, group riding
Bike fitness - timed transition and timed laps
Brick session - timed bike-run and run-bike-run brick sessions
You will need to bring a road-worthy bike and helmet, water for the session, your hat and goggles for T1 practice and your preferred shoes for both cycling and running. For those preparing for open water swims you may also want to bring your wet-suit to fully replicate T1 practice.
The programme will run on alternate Tuesdays at 6:30pm - 7:30pm on the Forge Valley cycle track on the following dates: -
Tuesday 7th and 21st April 2026
Tuesday 5th and 19th May 2026
Tuesday 2nd and 16th June 2026
Prices for the full 6 session programme are as follows
STC Members (excluding Swim only members) - £25 (you can join up for 12 months membership here - prices vary by membership category)
Non-Members - £35 (including STC membership and access to other training sessions for the duration of the programme: 7th April - 16th June inclusive)
Spaces limited to 16 participants and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
