We're just looking through the feedback forms from this year's festival. When asked what the best thing about the festival was, one form said 'David's masterful quiz mastering'. We couldn't agree more.

Here he is in action at The Piper, delivering his Quite Difficult Pop Quiz.

This year's Mardi Gras ball was a special one. We danced our socks off to live sets from The Brass Funkeys , Saidi Kanda and a blistering headline performance from Republica (Official). Then the hardcore revellers kept the party rolling with DJ sets from Heavenly Jukebox and a late‑night sonic adventure from Lemur Beats

The festival events are made possible by amazing sponsors, like Love Hastings , a not-for-profit business working to improve the town centre for residents, visitors and businesses in Hastings and manage the BID. The aims are to reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the town, provide a voice and support for town centre businesses and lever in more money from other sources to supplement budgets.

The third panel of Un-Convention was all about the Lifers- those artists in it for the long haul.

The panel, chaired by David Quantick, gathered artists to discuss the realities of long‑term careers in an industry defined by rapid change. They included Miki Berenyi , Romeo Stodart of The Magic Numbers and Ren Harvieu.

Unconvention was supported by PRS for Music , and outreach manager Stuart Belsham joined the panel to outline the support that is available to musicians.

PRS for Music is a world-leading collective management organisation, representing the rights of more than 180,000 songwriters, composers and publishers. They collect and pay royalties when a member’s music is played in public, broadcast, downloaded, streamed, or performed live both in the UK and around the world. https://www.prsformusic.com/

Our second Un-Convention panel discussed regional music scenes, exploring what’s driving momentum across the UK’s towns and cities, and how collaboration, identity and local infrastructure can help scenes truly flourish.
Chaired by John Robb, the panel welcomed voices shaping regional music ecosystems, including Geraldine Zanaska from Compass Music, Adrian Cooke, Sound and Vision founder & Arts Council England RM, Tony Bartholomew from Goo Records & Dirty Management and Sophia Stutchbury from Folkestone Music

All possible thanks to sponsors like Sound Act - a neighboring rights consultancy that works with performers and record labels to ensure their performance royalties are collected and maximised in the most efficient way possible. https://www.soundact.co.uk/
