What a fantastic day for a parkrun. The sun was shinning, the breeze was almost there to keep you cool. Thanks to all the 539 participants and 30 volunteers for making it a wonderful day. Just a bit of housekeeping, please remember that all dogs need to be on a hand held lead not a tethered one. At this time of year the tree roots are a bit of an obstacle, please be careful when running and report any incidents to the Run Director as we have to report this to HQ. Your results have been processed and can be found on our website. While you there, please have a look at other ways you can support your local parkrun including small donations for us to buy new flags, cones etc. Have a great weekend!

Another beautiful morning on the Stray. It was lovely to meet new people this week: all those starting out on their parkrun journey, those coming back to parkrun after a break and also many seasoned runners and walkers from near and far.

Thanks again to all of our wonderful volunteers: the faithful and dependable ones; the flexible ones, willing to try something new to fill a gap, the first time volunteers, tourist volunteers and everyone who has come down early, stayed late or stepped up on the day to make it happen.

You're never too young or too old to volunteer. It's great if you want to stay connected when injured, and there are plenty of roles you can fill whilst still being able to complete your own walk or run. Drop us a email if you'd like to find out more. We'd love to welcome you to the volunteer team.

If you wondered about the number of red berets out on te Stray today it was in celebration of the legend that is Tony LEDWABA-CHAPMAN completing his 500th parkrun.

While you are there, why not have look at the top right, click on ‘more then about us’ in the middle of that page you will see ‘donate to this event’. Each event has this on their page. parkrun’s don’t have a budget, when we need new cones, arrow signs and other event day equipment we rely on donations.

At the moment, Harrogate parkrun are in need of some new signs, a loud speaker along with a few other items. If you are able to make a donation we would be extremely grateful.
