It’s with a heavy heart I have made the decision to fully close the doors of Pretty Neat Studios.

It’s been in incredibly difficult decision and wasn’t something I planned to do when I finished for maternity leave 7 months ago, but due to a combination of circumstances, it’s the right decision for me at this time.

Both my laser cutter and printer have found their way to loving new homes and the studio, which was once my Grandad’s workshop (pictured), is now empty.

I’m very sad but also proud of what I’ve achieved over the 8 years of running the business. For now my focus will be fully on being the best mummy I can to little Scarlett and who knows where the future will lead.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported my journey with Pretty Neat Studios in any way. It has been an honour to work with so many other small businesses and play a part in lots of special occasions along the way.

Introducing little Scarlett Adelaide Sophie Deadman who was due today but made a slightly early and quick arrival into the world on 23/3/22 at 13:01 weighing 5lb 5oz.
We had a tough first week and a bit of a stay in hospital but came home on Sunday evening- the best Mother’s Day gift I could have wished for! Her daddy and I are absolutely besotted and so thankful she is here safely ❤️.

As you may have seen there are some big changes coming for me in the near future! Thanks to having so many loyal and supportive customers, I’m a very infrequent social media poster, but wanted to outline my plans for winding down and closing for maternity leave over the next couple of months.

My wedding stationery order book is sadly already closed and from Friday 28th January I will be no longer be taking orders from new/non-existing customers. For existing/current customers, I will remain open as long as possible before officially closing the doors on Friday 25th February.

I don’t yet have a plan for my return but it is likely to be a prolonged closure rather than a shorter one for various reasons.

Thank you for all your support and well wishes so far. It’s scary to be winding up what I’ve spent the last 8 years building, but I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds! 💕

Today is a funny day. It should have been my last day at work before getting married next weekend. Instead, the year countdown until the big day begins again for our new date – 12.06.21 (let’s hope the weather is better than today!)...and rather than closing I am re-opening my order books having spent the last couple of weeks catching up following my COVID-19 closure. If there’s anything you’d cutting or printing please feel free to get in touch! 💕

Due to COVID19 I am going to need to close the studio in the coming day or two for an unknown length of time. I am now closed to enquiries from new customers, but if any previous/regular customers have anything they urgently require printing or cutting, please order BY LUNCHTIME TODAY and I will get through as much as I am able to using the materials I have in stock before I need to shut up shop.

I appreciate any closure I impose will have an impact on lots of other small businesses, but life is going to change for us all over the coming weeks and in such unprecedented circumstances, as someone who suffers from asthma, I need to be sensible.

I will update again as soon as I can over the coming weeks as the situation develops.

Huge congratulations to the lovely Lizzie & Paul who got married yesterday. I’ve known Lizzie since I was 4 years old, so it was an honour to be able to create her wedding invitations which were inspired by a combination of Sicily where they got engaged and Lizzie’s Yorkshire roots. 🍋

The official countdown has begun- 365 days to go! We’re celebrating in Amsterdam, eating pizza and sweet treats...pretty much what we’ll be doing next year, but surrounded by our friends and family! 💕

A little advanced warning that I will be closed next week for a holiday from Tuesday 18th June, re-opening on Monday 24th June. I won’t be checking my emails whilst I’m away, but will catch up as quickly as I can once I return. 💕
