Swim Groomsport

Swim Groomsport Saturday 16th September 2017. A 1500m swim in the clear waters off Groomsport. Organised alongside t Part of the H2O Play Swim Series NI.

Swim Groomsport provides a safe opportunity for open water swimmers to experience the clear waters of the Irish Sea. Entries available from February.

Official. Swim will take place within Groomsport harbour for safety reasons. It will start at the scheduled time of 10:45 and consist of two 600m laps.

Weather conditions are pretty rough in Groomsport this morning. Winds are due to ease slightly overnight and we will post updates as we have them.

We'll have registration from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday and from 8:00am on Saturday in Groomsport Boathouse. Swim start is at 10:45. Entries will be available at registration.

Can we ask all competitors and spectators to utilise the event car parking at The Meadow, home of Groomsport F.C.? Post race showers are also available here. It's well signposted as you enter Groomsport from the Bangor direction. Parking away from the Main Street will give us all a safer race. Parking is free but please consider putting a pound or two in the bucket to support the local children's team. Many thanks

Swim Groomsport starts at 10:45 on Saturday 17th September. Online entries will close on Friday but entries will also be available on the day. It's two 750m laps, swum anti-clockwise off the beach. Registration on the day is in the Boat House from 08:00.
