The Grindleford Fell Race takes place over a 4.5 miles route starting on the playing fields. The route takes you up through Hay Wood, the Longshore Estate and back through Padley Gorge. Start 19:30.

It's going to be a hot one, so make sure you hydrate throughout the day!

We'll have water at the end but won't have cups (to avoid one use plastic), so please bring a vessel yourselves.

They'll be somewhere for you to leave a kit bag if you want.

Hey everyone.

Hope everyone is looking forward to the race next week, we're certainly looking forward to having you here.

Weather is looking awesome for next Thursday! Whatever it is it's likely to be an improvement on last year's return to Winter for the 4hr window of the race and evening!

We're going to have our burger and beer stand as well always for those that have ordered. We'll also have Sunshine Pizza Oven in attendance for those that fancy a pizza (as well!).

We've got a new sponsor helping us out with some of the prizes this year, so wanted to give a shout out to Dan at Finding the Fells for their support www.instagram.com/findingthefellsguide.

We'll have people to manage parking on the night, but encourage you all, wherever possible to consider using public transport and / or share vehicles to do our bit in reducing our carbon footprint.

Looking forward to what we hope is a special night in the local fell racing calendar. With the dry ground, we're hoping for a quick one!

Hi all,

Following my earlier message, the entries for this year's Grindleford Fell Race are now open for entry:

We've had to increase the prices again sadly due to inflation across the border.

This year we're going to offer locally brewed Contour IPA in a can for those that drink ale, which should improve delivery rate! The lager will still be on tap.

We're hoping for slightly better weather than last year's overnight return to Spring (Winter) weather!

Looking forward to seeing a great gang of you lovely folk on the night.

Hi all,

Sorry that this has taken a while to get published, as always, the rest of our carnival follows the fell race and sucks up the time needed to sort results and other bits after the race.

Firstly, thank you to all of you for turning up on a night that was less than Summery! The grey skies and rains persisted throughout the evening, but no spirits were dampened and there were lots of smiles to be seen. Not only that, but the times on the course were still quick, with what we thought might be a course record from Michael Kenyon running at 32:35, but still a bit short on Tom’s time from last year of 31:52.

Next, an admission. We had a data error on the night. One of the devices from the registration didn’t fully upload the “Pre-race Check” data, which meant that some of the times were not displaying in the final result. We discovered towards the end of the prize session and fixed it, but it means a few people got a bottle of wine that shouldn’t have, a few missed out. It was for those with surnames in S-Z. The full results are below:

Hi folks,

A quick message ahead of Thursday night’s race night. Woot woot!

Sadly, it seems Summer hasn’t turned up for the last few weeks and the weather has been cooler and wetter. We’re expecting a wet evening on Thursday.

At this time, we’re expecting to be using the field to park, but this might change closer to the time. But we’re hoping not.

Registration will be open from around 18:15, when numbers and dibbers can be collected.

We would like everyone to bring a waterproof jacket, hat (can be a buff), and gloves. We’ll make the call on needing them or not on the night.

Those that have ordered burgers and beers will be able to collect them using their name after the race. There will be more to order on the night and we’ve also got Sunshine Pizza dropping in.
