Hello BFF followers…important update on this year’s event.
It’s coming to that time of year where the pace and intensity of planning this event really start to kick in.
One of our core objectives has always been to make this event as accessible as possible by keeping the entrance fee low, and this is now becoming increasingly challenging due to the economic climate. Unfortunately, this year we have not been able to secure the same amount of sponsorship as previous and with rising costs, have had to evaluate the viability of this year’s event going ahead.
As you also may already be aware, the event is organised by passionate volunteers who love to bring the community of Bookham and surrounding areas together, but who also have full time jobs, families and other commitments to balance. They do not gain financially from this event.
Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to not go ahead with this year’s event. This is disappointing for us and we’re sure some of you will also feel the same.
Our intention is not for the festival to stop. We hope to be able to go again in 2027 and will be assessing the situation this time next year. Over the 4 events we have raised around £20k for local charities and we want to be able to continue to support these organisations whilst having a jolly good time with our friends and neighbours in the village!
