The first 5k Steel River Trail Run
Located at Flatts Lane Country Park , Saturday 27th August 2011 at 9.00am
BikeTraks/Cleveland Runner of Great Ayton (in partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Tees Valley Leisure Limited) introduce the first 5K Steel River Trail Run which will take place on Saturday 27th August 2011 and then on the last Saturday of every month following. We
will be meeting at Flatts Lane Woodland Park and intend to run a tested course that we are sure will inspire and challenge all levels of runners over the 5K distance. The course offers fantastic views over Teesport and the North Yorkshire Moors and we hope you agree when you join us, that it's an excellent run! This is a non-competitive run, offering assistance from level 2 UKA coaches who will be running with you to offer support, encouragement and advice. We will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on your training, kit and nutrition before and after the run and will be more than happy to discuss your gait and help with any goals or targets you may want to achieve. Anyone interested in helping, please contact Gordon at Cleveland Runner. For further information and how to enter contact us on 01624-913 069 and discuss your questions with Martin. Who can take part? Anybody and everybody. People of all ages and abilities can take part in our runs. We have qualified trainers at hand to answer any questions you may have. The run is meant for leisure and enjoyment. We look forward in welcoming you at Flatts Lane. Can children take part? Yes - we love to see happy children taking part and finishing. We ask that children under 11 are accompanied by a parent or guardian. We should make clear that the governing body (UK Athletics) say children aged under 13 should not take part in any road race of distance greater than 4km. However, provided younger children are not put under any undue pressure to perform by teachers, coaches, parents or guardians they may take part for fun.
