We would like to welcome back all those kids & parents / carers who have been involved with the YAC Sevens over the years & for those who are new - please take time to read the information below.

We cannot stress enough - please can you park in the lower pitch car park (next to the astroturf pitch) & walk up the path to the grass pitches - the top car park is for council vehicle access, emergency services & GYAC coaching staff who are off loading equipment. Parking on George Road or the surrounding streets creates problems for our neighbours - please be mindful & aware of this.

All players should be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of their time on-site. Please ensure your child does not wander off or leave the park at the end of the evening on their own.

Our coaches, admin assistants and young helpers are all volunteers of varying levels of experience & are doing their very best.
We cannot stress enough that you should not tell your child how to play & what to do during games this will only confuse the kids - however, please encourage your child - coaches will always support the kids to pass the ball to other kids as best they can - but would appreciate your help on those rare occasions that your child might be frustrated & struggling with behavior. Bad language & shouting at coaches and children will not be tolerated & you will be asked to take your child out of the tournament.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, however they must be kept on a lead at all times, with any mess cleaned up immediately.

In the event of torrential rain, decisions to cancel games will be taken in consultation with Inverclyde Council ground staff & based on their instructions. Any postponements will be posted on the page no later than 1700hrs on the day of play.

Please report to the admin desk if your child requires first aid.

If a player is unable to attend for any reason (sickness/holidays etc.) please let us know by private messaging this page. Alternatively, we can be reached at [email protected]. We really appreciate your help with this, as advance warning of call-offs lets the admin team re-arrange the sides to avoid any last minute delays.

The Sevens are for all levels of ability - but is mainly to give children an opportunity to play in a fun environment, we do not play for points or trophies.
As always we hope the kids have a happy time, but if you feel they are no longer able to participate, please let the desk know ASAP. ๐
Finally, please be patient - the first couple of weeks are always a little bit hectic. Parents & kids should attend the admin desk on the first evening with the registration fee (ยฃ10, payable in cash only - we do not have any card/contactless facilities). Please note, second children from the same family are free. ๐ฐ
Please report to the registration desk at the allotted times below. The coaches will then bring the kids in to explain some golden safety rules then put them in small sided games, this normally takes around 10 mins to organise. ๐ฃ
โช๏ธP2/3 - 1810hrs registration for an 1825hrs KO
โช๏ธP4/5 - 1835hrs registration for an 1845hrs KO
P2/3 games will be either 2 x 25 mins halves or 3 x 16 mins thirds, with a short 1 min water break/toilet break (please ensure your child does not wander off at short breaks). โฑ๏ธ
Please note - expect delays on the opening night; we will try to get games kicked off around the same time in their respective age groups. The kids are free to have a kick about until the coach shouts them in - P2/3 are the small pitches near the admin desk - P4/5 are the bigger pitches - we will bib the kids at the desk as the tournament progresses once we get settled teams. ๐ฅ
Coaches will introduce kick-in and goalkeeper free pass-out rules, they may finish the game with a penalty shoot out. On some occasions coaches will put a young assistant on to help a team that is struggling. โฝ๏ธ
Some kids will move between teams, please bear with us on this as all teams are subject to change/amendment. ๐
