Bringing together choirs from across the world, ChoirBLAST creates accessible choir projects for all ages and abilities, hosts vibrant, inclusive events that unite communities and raises funds for local causes.

We’re looking for Community Choir Volunteers to support our free choir sessions across Godalming, Guildford and the surrounding area.

Here’s what one of our current volunteers has to say:

“I volunteer on a weekly basis with The Moss Lane Songsters — an infant school choir facilitated by ChoirBLAST. It’s a weekly highlight for me. Not only do I get to sing some cracking songs, but with 4–7 year olds whose energy and enthusiasm brightens my Wednesday.

It’s a privilege to be able to give the children the chance to escape for half an hour and get involved in something creative. Seeing their uninhibited excitement and growing confidence is a regular reminder to not take things too seriously and just have fun!”

What you’d be doing:
Joining a regular choir session once a week or fortnight, helping members learn their parts, supporting the choir leader, and being part of something that genuinely changes people’s lives. The role is subject to a DBS check.

What you’d bring:
A love of singing (or a passion for what choirs can do for people), a strengths-based mindset, and a commitment to showing up consistently for the choir you sign up with.

Time commitment: 30 minutes to 2 hours per week.

Applications to perform at ChoirBLAST 2027 are open, and the deadline is 30th November. We don’t want you to miss it.

The weekend of 11th & 12th June 2027 in Godalming. The UK’s biggest non-competitive contemporary choir festival. Free to perform, free to attend. Real stages, real audiences, and the kind of day your choir will be talking about for years.

We welcome choirs of every kind — community choirs, school choirs, workplace choirs, LGBTQ+ choirs, small choirs, big choirs, non English language choirs… all ages, all abilities. If you sing together, there is a place for you here.

But spaces are limited and they go. If performing at ChoirBLAST has been on your list, now is the time to make it happen.

Flossie is calling for stallholders and vendors to apply to join us on Saturday 12th June 2027. We have spaces across The Burys Field, The Jack Phillips Memorial site (including The Bandstand and our brand new covered space, The Cloisters), The Green, and Behind The Library — home to The Duck and The Duckling, which this year will have a more interactive feel with personalisation, workshops and treatments.

Food and drink vendors, we’d love to hear from you too!

It’s official. ChoirBLAST Does Christmas is back! 🎄

Two concerts, one evening, at Godalming Minster on Church Street.

🎶 5pm: our Family Show, with school, youth and nursery choirs including ChoirBLAST Community Choirs
🎶 7pm: our Evening Concert, with adult choirs from across the area including Full Circle Vocal Group, Godalming Community Gospel Choir, Little Town Choir and more

There’ll be mulled apple, mince pies, a raffle and a merch table for last-minute presents. Tickets are £7.50, carers and children under 16 go free (just book a ticket alnso we know you’re coming).

Every penny helps us keep running free community choirs across Surrey, for the people who need them most.

“I loved singing Fight Song as it reminded me of looking after me.”

We heard this from a child at Moss Lane School — one of around 40 children who take part in our Moss Lane Songsters choir every week. Reception through to year two, singing and signing together in Godalming, with some performing solos for the very first time.

There’s something about that combination — the music, the Makaton signing, the being part of something together — that positively impacts children in a way that’s hard to put into words. Confidence. Joy. A sense that their voice matters.

Every session is free, for the children and for the school, supported by our fundraising. Because we believe that if singing changes something, everyone deserves access to it.

We’re hiring! 💛

ChoirBLAST is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our small (but mighty) team. If you’re the sort of person who genuinely enjoys a tidy spreadsheet and a reconciled bank account, this one’s for you.

It’s a paid, part-time contractor role, up to £25/hour, mostly home-based with some time in Godalming. Think weekly bookkeeping, monthly reconciliations, and a bit more during our festival season in May to July.

You don’t need to be a charity finance expert, just reliable, organised, and comfortable with Xero (or similar). Bonus points if you’ve worked with a small charity or small business before.

Behind every choir session we run, there’s someone making sure the numbers add up. Could that be you?

A new term has started! 🎶
Our community choirs are back across Surrey this week. Free for the people who need them most, led by professional choir leaders, and genuinely joyful from the very first session.

Encore Oakleaf are our newest choir led by Caroline, for people living with mental health and well-being challenges, in partnership with Oakleaf Enterprise mental health charity in Guildford.

Singing Foxes is a choir for primary age children at Saint Mark and All Saints School in Godalming. Around 20 singers from year 3 to year six in this notably diverse school where many children are on free meals or have special educational needs meet each week. For some of these children, choir is the place where they truly shine.

Samson Singers is a choir for adults living with MS at the The Samson Centre for MS in Guildford. Group singing supports breathing nd circulation in a way that is social and joyful, never clinical. Sessions are also available online for members who can’t attend in person.

At Moss Lane Infant School, the Moss Lane Songsters sees around 40 children from reception to year two in Godalming singing and signing together with some performing solos for the very first time.

Our youngest singers! Over 50 children aged 2 to 4, the Wharf Songbirds in Godalming. Short, joyful sessions using song movement and Makaton to support early language and listening, led by Phoebe and Harriet.

20 to 40 residents of the The Meath Charity - a care home and day service for people in Godalming with epilepsy and related disabilities. At the Meath Singing sessions, led by Mica, staff see how much brighter Residence are during and after every 90 minute group.
