This week we're taking part in with Big Give with the aim of raising £5,000 to take music workshops into schools with Carducci String Quartet. And the good news is that thanks to your generosity we're 92% of the way there! Can you help us get over the line? All donations are automatically doubled until Tuesday via Big Give.

This is our Festival photo spot!

Looking back to an enjoyable Festival weekend a couple of weeks ago, which alongside four memorable and moving concerts featuring the Carducci String Quartet with guests including Charles Owen, Edward Derbyshire and Anton Lesser, also provided several opportunities for young musicians.

Photo 1 shows three of the four finalists in this year's Carducci Young Composers Competition, alongside the Quartet and composer Robert Fokkens. Still on a high from hearing their brilliant works performed by the Quartet in front of a live audience.

Photo 2 shows the talented young pianists and chamber musicians who took part in a masterclass with Charles Owen - always a treat to see Charles sharing his expertise and enthusiasm!

As part of the Coffee Concert: Carducci Caravan on Sunday 18 May at St Mary de Crypt in Gloucester, the Carducci String Quartet will be performing this new arrangement of The Lobster by Irish/American band The Gloaming.
Tickets are still available for this concert which includes music by Dvorak, Piazzolla and Puccini alongside readings to bring the music to life.

What an incredible weekend! We're still buzzing from a glorious Carducci Festival at Highnam 2024 with Carducci String Quartet, Lara Melda, Katya Apekisheva & Emma Johnson (plus some incredibly talented young violinists and composers).
Roll on 16-18 May 2025, when we'll be back in Holy Innocents Church, Highnam & St Mary de Crypt Church, Gloucester.
