⭐️⭐️⭐️ NEWS UPDATE ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond anyone’s control, there is a last minute change to Saturday’s headliner…

Unfortunately Corey Ledet is no longer able to perform at the festival.
Corey sends his apologies, but due to an unforeseen and serious personal family situation, he now won’t be able to join us.
We send him our love, support and hope everything is OK.

In his place, Blake Miller has kindly agreed to step across the stage from fiddle duties, to take over band leader responsibilities on Accordion and Vocals; and will deliver a red hot Creole and Zydeco set, backed by the rest of Corey’s U.K. Zydeco band.

We understand the disappointment, and can assure you that this situation is beyond anyone’s control.
At such short notice we have done all we can to find a suitable alternative, we hope everyone understands the difficulty in doing so.

The show must go on as they say, and Blake is one of the finest Accordion players and band leaders in Louisiana, so you’re in safe hands! 😎

We look forward to seeing you all this weekend. ❤️

Please contact Gloucester Guildhall if you have any ticketing queries.

Afternoon folks!

Well here it is, only a few days until we open the doors on the 32nd Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival at Gloucester Guildhall…

Here’s our final artist introduction!
This year’s Saturday afternoon main stage band are back for a second year, but in their original planned lineup…

Cajun Royale

“Cajun Royale is a hot new band made up of road tested veterans of the Louisiana roots, Americana and Folk music scenes.

Strongly rooted in tradition but with a progressive approach; they are unafraid to mix in some surprising new flavours and unexpected cover tunes while serving up a fiery, compelling sound that will appeal to anyone looking for a memorable night out.”

This year for our Sunday early evening main stage support act, we’re delighted to bring some honky-tonk flavour to the dance floor… get your country shuffle on with…

The Longshore Drifters Country Dance Band

“The Longshore Drifters in their 'Country Dance Band' form bringing harmony-rich duets, old school country deep cuts, and future classics to the Gloucester Guildhall stage.

Born from a chance encounter between itinerant country picker Mark J Lee and session singer Michelle Miller, who share a love of songwriting and reinvigorating classic (sometimes forgotten) country gems, their retro-modern honky-tonk sound is a meandering odyssey of golden age country music from Bakersfield to Nashville and beyond. From Telecaster twang-driven roof-raisers to smoky 3am heartbreak ballads, The Longshore Drifters serve it all up with equal parts rhinestone swagger and down-home charm and humility, making them firm favourites among hardcore country aficionados and the honky-tonk curious alike.”

'A welcome wallop to the honky-tonk sense' - Global Texan Chronicles

'Captivating...classic and lovely' - Ear to the Ground

Performing on the main stage for our Sunday lunchtime Cajun dance, we bring you…

Lil' Roosters

“As the UK’s one third of the internationally-renowned, award-winning Cajun band ‘The Cajun Roosters’, Chris Hall and Hazel Scott are no strangers to the international stage.
They’ve headlined at major festivals worldwide, including in Denmark, Germany, UK, Holland, Luxembourg, Poland, France, Ireland, USA (where they appeared on local television/radio from the Eunice Liberty Theatre, LA), and recently to the International ‘SIM Fest’ in Indonesia.
In addition, the two have done several tours with Grammy award winners (Steve Riley) and completed several internationally produced CDs as well as various session-work projects. They have appeared in the internationally distributed programmes ZingZillas (BBC TV) and the Mark Lamarr Show (BBC Radio 2).

Although rooted in that back-porch sound of Louisiana, they mix them ol’ Cajun blues sounds with a little touch of Scots-Celtic soul and a large dose of sunny favourites ranging from Kate Rusby through Bob Dylan and Van Morrison to the good ol’ lively sounds of Johnny Cash–all with a touch of Cajun-hot-sauce attitude for an authentic new ‘Bayou-Brit’ sound that may surprise but definitely delight!”

"The Roosters combine a potent punch with the authenticity that comes from neck-high immersion in regional culture and the legacy of the old masters." - fRoots Magazine

And now to introduce you to the second of our acts performing as part of the “Lazy Sunday Sessions” in ‘Jim’s Lounge’ (cinema stage)…

The Rigmarollers

“The Rigmarollers pack out exhilarating shows with a unique take on the blues. As a popular live band and regular festival headliners they're growing their following all the time.

Their songs get national radio play, with Cerys Matthews praising Sycamore Street on the BBC Radio 2 Blues Show and David Freeman picking Duck's Blood Breakdown for his Blues & Boogie show on Jazz FM.

Latest album 21st Century Speakeasy is a hit follow-up to the popular first single The Duke of Rent.

A trio with a massive sound, they put vocals, harmonica, guitar and sousaphone over an irresistible backbeat.

Harmonica virtuoso Ed Hopwood came up through acclaimed UK blues bands. Guitarist Julian Marshall has travelled far and wide across America and Europe to play with some of their finest musicians. Ewan Penkey is lauded for his mastery of the sousaphone and bass.

Together they blast out an original musical mix, bringing the party everywhere they play.

The Rigmarollers sell out gigs across London and the UK. Their festival CV includes Sidmouth Jazz & Blues, Fire in the Mountain, Ealing Blues, The Idler, Bimble Bandada, Purbeck Valley, Upton Blues, Leek Blues & Americana, among many others.

"Really love that. It chugs along rather nicely, doesn't it?"
Cerys Matthews, The Blues Show, BBC Radio 2

I like the upbeatness. Lifts the mood.
David Freeman, Blues & Boogie, Jazz FM

"You guys really get it."
Robert Hokum. Ealing Blues Festival Founder

"Band of the festival."
Leek Blues and Americana”
