Old Glossop Autumn Fete

The Old Glossop Autumn Fete is taking a break in 2025.

Over the last two years we’ve raised more money for charity than we imagined possible and enjoyed seeing our wonderful community come together and join in the festivities.

The fete has exceeded our expectations in so many ways and grown bigger than we could have hoped for, and with that in mind, we want to take a pause to allow us time to reflect and plan for the next one, so we can make it the best one yet!

We absolutely smashed it this year and raised a whopping £4447.50 to donate to Reuben's Retreat!

We paid them a visit this lunchtime to share in celebrating how well the day went and how much we raised. Compared to last year, we didn't expect to make anywhere near this amount!

We hope everyone who attended, as visitors, stall holders, food and drink vendors, activity providers, musicians, or anyone who helped in any other way, feel as proud as we do of being able to not only enjoy a lovely, community day... but support this amazing local charity!

We have the winners of our competition (who have just had an email) and we can tell you that our lovely sheep weigh 80kgs combined and the winning guesses were:
First place: 77.5kgs
Second place: 83.2kgs

The names that won are-

First place: Baa-rbara Windsor and Ewe Grant
Second Place: Ed Shear-an and Meryl Sheep

We had some cracking entries and thanks to everyone for taking part!

We have almost tallied up our final costs and will reveal the final donation to Reuben's Retreat soon!

What an amazing day yesterday! Thanks to everyone who came and made the day such a wonderful one.

We are all pretty exhausted today, but will do a final tally on the money raised tomorrow... as well as announce the winners of our competition 🐑🐑🐑

Some bits to work on for next year, but for only the second time we have held the event (and it not being our day job after all) we are pretty chuffed with how it went!

Reminder to buy your tickets online before midday to get early bird prices!

Online ticket prices will jump up to match the walk up cash price at the gate from midday.

Walk in tickets will be available until we reach capacity (as we are a licensed event) so if you're thinking of coming down help out volunteers our and buy online!

From 5-9pm (and 9-11pm inside Distant Hills) bands and DJs will be still going strong, and entry will be still possible if numbers allow... so please do come on down in the evening.

Live music, family friendly activities, delicious food & drink, local vendors, and more! All profits going to Reuben's Retreat.

Old Glossop Autumn Fete is tomorrow! Tickets are really selling, which means lots of people to enjoy all of the amazing food, drinks, music, stalls and entertainment we have on offer! More importantly, it means we can raise more money for Reuben's Retreat since all profit made by us is being donated!

Reminder that tickets are on sale at the 'early bird' prices until midday tomorrow, when tickets both online and at the gate will cost more (nice round numbers to make life easier for our volunteers on the gate, etc.) so please do take a minute to buy your tickets now rather than tomorrow: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/old-glossop-autumn-fete-tickets-879391693227

Another reminder that parking will be tight in Old Glossop, so walking or parking a little further out and walking the last bit is recommended!

They can still be purchased on the gate in cash, or via a link to the Eventbrite page on card upon entry, however the price will have gone up... so well worth every penny to book early!

The gates open at midday, with activities from Inside Out Forest School Changing Faces (face painting), Inspiring Animal Therapy CIC Wise Owl Norris Floristry flower crown workshops, Jack Badger Ltd joinery demo, Reuben's Retreat Pony Patch

The music kicks off at 1pm with Fab Choir Suede Apple The High Aces The Fay Brothers Libby and Raddon, Olta, Suboptimal

Local makers and stalls from Thread and Clay, Knotts and Crosses, Organic Ceramics Ingenio Eco, Brie For Tea Pixie Bakes Cakery & Coffee Shop

As well as food and drink stalls from Wrapscallion, Mama Sue's, Epic Pizza, Pop Up Joe, Ginger's Comfort Emporium and Distant Hills

We hope we haven't forgotten to tag anyone here, but it is looking like a warm and (hopefully) sunny day with loads to do for all the family! Kids activities will be finished by 5pm, with the evening focussed more on the music, food and drink.

Useful information for the Old Glossop Autumn Fete

Parking will be limited, and on site all parking is allocated to our lovely stall holders, bands, and activity providers (including Scout Hut parking- all spaces have been pre- allocated).
Ideally, arrive on foot, or park further out from Hope Street and walk the remaining distance.
The 390 bus will be diverted on Saturday, but will travelling very close to the event, so is another way to travel over.

Tickets will be needed to enter.

On the day, from midday onwards, you will either need to buy a ticket using the same link, or pay with cash on entry.
The price will have gone up to £10 per adult and £5 per child- so it is well worth getting them in advance/ by midday on the day.

Some activities are included within the ticket price, but you will need cash for some vendors, whereas others will be accepting card, for the things that cost extra. It is best to be prepared, as there isn't a cash machine in Old Glossop.

If you have any other questions in advance, please get in touch [email protected] but on the day- emails won't be checked after office hours on Friday 20th, so on the day our volunteers will be able to assist you on site.

We are hoping the weather will be as good as last year for the Old Glossop Autumn Fete and the BBC Weather app is coming through with the goods for us today!

Perfect weather to have a drink, listen to some good music, let the kids enjoy all of our activities on offer, and eat some tasty food in the sunshine!
