🎅Merry Christmas from the team!🎄

As we come to the end of the year, we would like to take this moment to look back on a truly inspiring edition of the Taiwan Film Festival in Scotland. This year’s festival was filled with powerful stories, meaningful encounters, and unforgettable moments that truly reflected our shared passion for cinema.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the filmmakers who shared their work and vision with us, and to every audience member who joined us this year — your curiosity, openness, and support are what make this festival possible.

A very special thank-you also goes to our dedicated team, whose passion, care, and hard work behind the scenes brought the festival to life. None of this would have been possible without you.

Looking ahead, we hope to continue building new connections, fostering dialogue, and bringing even more diverse voices and stories across Scotland in the years to come. Please stay tuned as we prepare for what’s next.

Wishing you all a warm and joyful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Warmest wishes,
Junwei Lu
Director, Taiwan Film Festival in Scotland

Over the past two weeks of the Taiwan Film Festival in Scotland, we’ve shared countless unforgettable moments with our audiences — from quiet tears to unexpected laughter sparked by glimpses of everyday life. But it's not over yet!

This final week, we invite you to three remarkable stories:
a deeply personal portrait of a transnational marriage,
a brave journey shaped by life-changing decisions,
and a powerful look at the lives and struggles of undocumented migrant workers.

These films may not always be bright or easy, but they are honest, courageous, and deeply human.

Stories that resonate far beyond - meet us at the CCA Glasgow.

🎬 About the Film — Mongrel
Oom is an undocumented, informally trained caregiver with a natural gift for looking after the elderly and disabled. But as the pressures of his isolated mountain job grow heavier, he is pushed toward an impossible crossroads: survive the circumstances that hold him down, or fight to hold on to his dignity.

During the session, we’ll share a brief introduction to the film before the newly added Q&A. Don’t miss this chance to explore the powerful themes behind Mongrel.
