This month's Flourish was one for the books. A big thanks to Finola Scott for coming along and reading from her outstanding new ecological pamphlet, Trembling Earth. And as always, thank you to the poets and musicians who graced the stage at McChuills. You all make Flourish what it is.

Our next event will take place on Wednesday, April the 9th. Same time, same place. If you would like a slot then please do reach out to us in advance.

Flourish returns next week with a special launch for Finola Scott's new collection of poetry.

Finola Scott seeks to untangle politics and examine the world through poetry. Successful in competitions, Finola is widely published, including in Gutter, New Writing Scotland. With four publications to date, she invites you to visit FB Finola Scott for poems and news: http://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/poet/finola-scott/

Trembling Earth, her new pamphlet, looks at the impact & threat of Climate Change on our daily lives. Throughout, Finola encourages us to appreciate what is at risk, to pay attention to the small everyday magic that surrounds us.

Open mic slots are available. Please DM us in advance if you fancy a slot.

This month's Flourish event was a magnificent night of eclectic and electric performances.

We started the night off screening Hector Bizerk's The Bird That Never Flew on its 10th anniversary which received a hearty reception from our lovely audience.

This was followed up by performances from poets, musicians and rappers of Glasgow. Some of who are pictured below.

Our next show is on Wednesday, October 2nd. Same time, same place (7:30pm, McChuills bar).

We have some open mic slots available, please reach out if you fancy reading or singing a tune.

As always, thank you for your support. See you on the 2nd of October.

03/09/2024

The second Flourish event is tomorrow, find us at the usual place McChuills bar - no charge on the door.

We will be running a raffle with some cracking prizes up for grabs at £1 a ticket so bring yer change down.

Slots have been fully booked.
