BIG CITY 2026 //
Glasgow Queen’s Park - Saturday 29th August

Hailing from the Comeragh Mountains of County Waterford, The Wran are four brothers: Tommy, Danny, SeĂĄn and Stephen Dunford. They bring a fresh voice to Irish music, blending trad with punk and a hint of psychedelia to create music that feels both timeless and new. Drawing inspiration from Planxty, The Pogues and Lankum,

The Wran combines traditional and modern instrumentation, including banjo, harmonium, acoustic guitar, bass VI and drums. They are dedicated to keeping the Irish language, traditional songs and storytelling alive while continuing to push it forward in their own way.

After an explosive live debut in 2025, including accoladed performances at Glastonbury, Green Man, All Together Now, Electric Picnic and more.

The Wran perform in Glasgow this summer alongside Super Furry Animals, Spiritualized, BrĂŹghde Chaimbeul, Moin, Curlew, Richard Dawson and more to be announced.

BIG CITY 2026 //
Glasgow Queen’s Park - Saturday 29th August

Such is the degree to which Richard Dawson has drawn down long drafts from the whirlpools of Elemental North Eastern Archetypes, he may now be one himself. Fearless in his research and willingness to follow his inspiration, Dawson has created an impressive catalogue of music and storytelling steeped in both ancient myths and contemporary dread. A fog of sickness, trauma and mute inevitability inhabits these records and is often expressed in the havoc with which Dawson’s hands produce sounds from his long-suffering guitar, an instrument as bruised, individual and indefatigable as its owner.

Rich(ard) Dawson performs in Glasgow this summer alongside Super Furry Animals, Spiritualized, BrĂŹghde Chaimbeul, Moin, Curlew, The Wran and more to be announced.

BIG CITY 2026 //
Glasgow Queen’s Park - Saturday 29th August

Moin are a London-based trio comprising Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews of the electronic outfit Raime, alongside visionary percussionist Valentina Magaletti. Their music reimagines guitar-driven genres—grunge, shoegaze, and post-rock—through a distinctive lens, reshaping the traditional band dynamic with both conventional and experimental compositional techniques. The result is a sound of visceral immediacy, fully realised in their powerful live performances. Moin walk the line between the reassuringly familiar and the unsettlingly inquisitive.

Moin perform in Glasgow this summer alongside Super Furry Animals, Spiritualized, BrĂŹghde Chaimbeul, Rich(ard) Dawson, Curlew, The Wram and more to be announced.

BIG CITY 2026 //
Glasgow Queen’s Park - Saturday 29th August

Curlew (she/her) is the moniker of Scottish experimental-folk artist Gill Higgins. She celebrates Celtic tradition through her q***r, neurodivergent, disabled lens, with the use of harmonium riffs, synthesiser drones, field recordings from Nature and her signature looped ethereal vocals. Having spent her past-life training as a surgeon in Scotland’s NHS, her work explores the intersection of science and folklore, technology and intuition, the modern and the ancient. She will be accompanied by her band for this special festival set, with drums, fiddle and close vocal harmonies transforming into a mesmerising wall of sound.

“a nigh on silent, packed audience... is hooked as she skilfully and beautifully blends layers of vocal and music through use of loop pedals. Switching between harmonium and keyboard, her set is a bewitching one” Geoff Shaw, Resound

Curlew performs in Glasgow this summer alongside Super Furry Animals, Spiritualized, BrĂŹghde Chaimbeul, Rich(ard) Dawson, Moin, The Wram and more to be announced.

BIG CITY 2026 //
Glasgow Queen’s Park - Saturday 29th August

Brìghde Chaimbeul is a leading purveyor of celtic experimentalism and a master of the Scottish smallpipes – the bellows-blown, mellower and more emotive cousin to the famous Highland bagpipes – and she’s taken them to the global stage. A native Gaelic speaker from the Isle of Skye, Brìghde roots her music in her language and culture. She rose to prominence as a prodigy of traditional music, but has since begun a journey to take the smallpipes into uncharted territory. She has devised a completely unique way of arranging for pipe music that emphasises the rich textural drones of the instrument; the constancy of sound that creates a trance-like atmosphere, played with enticing virtuosic liquidity. She draws inspiration from the world of interconnected piping traditions, and her most recent album (Sunwise) brings in influence from ambient, avant garde and electronic music. One can talk about Brìghde’s awards (BBC Young Folk Award; BBC Horizons Award; SAY Award nominee) and her wide array of collaborators (Caroline Polachek; Colin Stetson; Gruff Rhys; Aidan O’Rourke...) but after it all, her music speaks for itself. Haunting, entrancing, breathtaking, beautiful – this open-eared, understatedly virtuosic performer is transforming and creating new definitions for Scottish folk in the 21st century.

BrĂŹghde performs in Glasgow this summer alongside Super Furry Animals, Spiritualized, Rich(ard) Dawson, Moin, The Wran, Curlew and more to be announced.
