Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival Glasgow's free heritage festival, organised each September by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust | Returning 17–20 September 2026 | Part of

Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival gives free access to Glasgow's incredible architectural gems, buildings of historical significance and lets people explore behind the scenes. For one week every September you can visit unique places, attend talks, go on guided walks across the city or visit an exhibition and find out all about Glasgow's unique architecture and built heritage. 11-17th September 2017





Organised by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust since 1990, Glasgow Doors Open Days continues to champion the city's stunning architecture, support communities and inspire visitors.

There is only a week left to apply to participate in Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2026. Don't sleep on the chance to be part of Scotland's largest free annual heritage and community festival!

Thinking of participating in Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival This year? Don’t worry, you still have two weeks left to apply to take part.

We welcome applications from all kinds of individuals and organisations, including community and volunteer groups, heritage and walking‑tour guides, council‑owned buildings, private building owners and cultural organisations and many more!

Many participants tell us that the festival is one of their busy times of the year and allows them to connect to new audiences from across the city and beyond:

✨ Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2025 was one of our most successful editions yet.

With almost 40,000 visits, 320 primary pupils engaged and 178 participants taking part, the 2025 festival was our largest post covid.

The programme included 129 buildings, 30 walking trails and 79 exhibitions, workshops and events. We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!
