Due to recent developments, even with the best will in the world, we realise that this year’s intended dates for the Riverside Festival at the end of May are no longer looking possible. Taking on board all guidance and information available within the events industry, and with much deliberation, we have come to the decision to move to the end of the summer on the weekend of Sept 3,4 & 5. The general consensus is that this date change will allow the vaccine roll-out to have progressed enough to allow open air events of our size to take place safely again.

We are glad to say that our headline acts are all on board for the new dates. The full line-up will be released soon, and includes many from the original artist bill along with some great new additions. Remaining tickets are on sale now on riversidefestivalglasgow.com. Refunds are available for anyone who can’t make the new dates.

Sadly, due to the changed regulations affecting drive-in events in Scotland, we have taken the decision to the cancel our events.
The updated regulations, which were changed last week, mean it is now not financially viable for us – two small, independent organisations, including a not-for-profit organisation and charity – to put on the events, due to the reduced capacity in the venue this would allow.
We are sorry to disappoint those who were planning to attend, but we understand the regulations are there to keep everyone safe in a situation which is ever-changing.
Purchased tickets will be refunded to the card used in the transactions.

In 1972, undisputed Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, brought producer Jerry Wexler, her backup singers and the legendary Atlantic Records rhythm section to The New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in L.A, to record an album of gospel music...Amazing Grace. That album went on to become one of the biggest albums and most beloved works of her career.

Few realized that those inspirational sessions had not only been recorded they had been filmed by a camera crew led by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sydney Pollack. Due to technical problems the film was never seen until 2019 and now we are delighted to show it as part of Sound and Vision Drive In 2020

Two of Glasgow's best loved festivals are joining forces to create a special movie and music drive-in taking place next month. Sound & Vision Drive-In is a unique collaboration between Scotland's creative electronic music and film festivals: Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) and The Electric Frog.

22 individual screenings will take place celebrating the joy of cinema with movies from some of the greatest directors and studios. There will be movies for all the family, movies about music and even the odd scare for good measure! We will have performances before many of the films to create an unforgettable film experience
