It's been a year and a half like no other, the entire creative sector has been all but decimated, but we're determined to build back in our home city of Glasgow, creating over 200 jobs and giving us all an incredible experience to enjoy safely together at one of the most magical times of the year. We've listened to your feedback and are bringing Elfingrove back with a brand-new fully outdoors show taking place along the banks of the River Kelvin and set to transform the grounds of Glasgow’s most famous museum, Kelvingrove. The details of this year’s show are a well-guarded secret but one thing we can tell you is we're creating Scotland’s largest outdoor ice-skating experience and if you loved GlasGLOW you're going to love this.

We’re really sad to share that Elfingrove won’t be going ahead this year and want to be open about it.

Everyone who has bought a ticket will receive a full refund automatically. Our team will begin processing these within the next 24 hours and you’ll receive confirmation directly.

We’ve worked incredibly hard over the last few years to create and launch something we believed would be special, and thousands of you bought tickets in the first day. Thank you - we genuinely appreciate the support.

Putting on major events of this scale is a huge financial risk and sadly the level of early demand is below what we need to confidently take the event forward. As a small independent business rooted right here in Glasgow, we have to be practical as well as ambitious.

In light of this, we’ve made what has been an incredibly tough decision for us all.

This choice doesn’t affect any of our other events. We’re hugely disappointed and very sorry to everyone who was looking forward to coming. Thank you for backing the idea and for all the lovely comments over the last few weeks.

We’ll be back with more exciting things in the future.

Lots of you have been in touch over the past few weeks, asking about our plans for Elfingrove.

Today, we’re sharing the new that for this Christmas coming, we’re putting Elfingrove on ice.

Last year, hundreds and thousands of you amazing people joined us on the UK’s biggest ice rink at Elfingrove, set against the spectacular backdrop of Kelvingrove Art Galleries.

Since 2019, we’ve made huge infrastructure investments, developed our event and seen so many of you come and spend the most magical time of the year with us. It’s amazing to see our vision come to life, and set the bar for a Glasgow Christmas experience that rivals the likes of Rockefeller Centre in New York.

However, large-scale temporary events like Elfingrove, by their nature, require huge levels of investment. Like so many other businesses, we have been hit by inflation and skyrocketing prices across the supply chain. When planning the feasibility of this years event, these price hikes would have required substantial ticket price increases and we weren’t comfortable passing these increases on to our customers. So, as a result, we have decided to put this years show on ice while we work on an even more magical new event that will elevate Glasgow Christmas in future ✨

We can’t thank all of you enough for coming to Elfingrove throughout the years 🤍

From our first year in the Art Galleries to last year’s epic ice rink and Skate Side Dining, we’ve loved every magical minute 🥹 It’s not goodbye; it’s see you later 👋
