🏳️🌈Summer of Pride Week 2!🏳️⚧️
❤️ On Tuesday, we were taking a tour back in time with ReportOUT’s Drew Dalton as he told the hidden truths of the Men in the Pink Triangle and treatment of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history and times of oppression.
🧡 Keeping up the theme of history, we were back down to South Tyneside at the The Customs House to for the screening of Rebel D***s; the story of the post-punk 1980’s era in London, where a community of women came together with art, politics, s*x and transforming the nightlife which turned to them wanting to change the world and become activists, artists, performers celebrating the life of a le***an!
💛 Jarrow got more than a splash of colour as ReportOUT and Pride in Hebburn got together for a Pride banner workshop, where people designed some amazing banners with important messages that feel dear to our community!
💚The Custom House did a time warp back to the 80’s, for an all night drag spectacular with Danny Diamond and the 80s Diva troop who brought all the songs that we celebrate as LGBTQ+ anthems!
💙 On Saturday, the Clubhouse Gaming gamers were preparing for a 12 hour marathon from 10am raising money for OUT North East’s work supporting the LGBTQ+ community. A full day of board games, RPG’s, mini-painting and D’n’D all in aid to help keep Pride free!
💜 At the same time, Pride in Hebburn was marching with pride; outfits, banners, and smiles. The local community came together in solidarity despite recent events to showcase that together we are stronger.
🩵 We’re just half way through, we aren’t going anywhere! Last night we were screening Screaming Queens, an event in LGBTQI+ rights before Stonewall. Tonight we are going through a global tour of LGBTQI+ rights in the modern world.
🤍 We’re collaborating with Dollhaus, Vane gallery and Orbis Community as they deliver a crafternoon and social, expressing true pride in community on Thursday. Whether you want to celebrate or protest, the dolls will show you how to do it in style!
🩷 We’ve got Pride Takeovers happening across the region. Working in partnership with some of the region's biggest businesses like the Metrocentre and Gateshead College, we can’t wait to see everyone come together!
🌈 If you’re feeling competitive or into sports then why not play for your chance to be named the ‘Pride Bowling Champion’ of 2026, as we join the Pelaw Lawn Bowling Club for a day of good old fashioned bowling with a twist of pride. Afterwards for those refusing to be beat, we have our increasingly important Pride March and Rally and Pride 5K Colour Fun Running partnership with Chopwell Woodland Park - Forestry England happening alongside even more events for the final week of Summer of Pride!
