Day 18 - from Berwick down through Newcastle was a tough shift. Very hot today and the weather is only getting much hotter until the end now I'm back in the tropical climate of North Eastern England.

Lovely to go through Newcastle today and meet up with Ken and Rachelle after 70 miles.

Missed the turning for a proper photo with the Angel of the North so got one at the side of the A167 instead 😵‍💫

5 days left on my 2000 mile challenge now, which is a bloody terrifying thought that I'm now 75% done and almost 1500 miles later 🤯

Cannot wait for Saturday when I'll be back in Hemel Hempstead and hopefully see as many of you as possible at the Oddfellows Arms for a boogie and beers 🍻

We have 38 more miles to go until we reach John o Groats!
It's a lovely grey and rainy Summer morning up in Thurso. Ready to be battered by the horrid North Sea Winds for the next 2 hours.

Any donations and support are so greatly appreciated at any time, let alone this stage being so close to the end (well for Liam atleast who doesn't have another 900 more misery miles to churn through like me 🥳🥳🥳)

Day 9 - Loch Lomond into the Cairngorms

- the most beautiful scenery in the UK
- plus the longest and fastest day of the trip so far
- pictures and videos cannot do the day enough justice

Almost 900 miles in now and John o Groats is starting to feel quite close at last, as opposed to it being a waypoint on the extremity of a computer generated map, which it has been all year!

With 2.5 days to go, it would be unbelievable to raise another £173 to push us over the £4,000 mark!
So many of you have already supported and donated but by sharing the story - I'm sure we can fundraise to 4k before we travel the last 250 miles!!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us so far on this journey! We are 6 days and 575 miles in so far and have made it to a Campsite near to Carlisle.

I am so grateful to everyone who has encouraged, supported and donated on the justgiving page. I initially set £2,500 as an aspirational target but I am so humbled to have surpassed that by a mile having raised £3,727 before we have even made it to Scotland!

I wanted to express my gratitude for how much has been raised already by letting people understand where their money will be going: -

- £3,500 is enough to fund a new infant ICU that could save a critically ill child's life. To have raised more than this amount already makes me feel very proud and accomplished because it means that someone, somewhere, will not lose their child or baby sister/brother.

Days 5 and 6 - from Cheshire through to the Lake District and around the Lakes

Uploading two days as I had no signal yesterday to keep the fans updated xo but we are still alive and clocked over another 160 miles since 9am yesterday morning.

Still can't believe I had breakfast Monday morning in Plymouth and having a Friday evening meal near Carlisle, having travelled only by bicycle, and detoured via the Brecon Beacons 🤯🤯

Glad for a rest up tonight before pushing up for Scotland tomorrow

Day 4 - Brecon Beacons into Cheshire

Crossed through more counties than I'm able to count to today. Lots of big hills in the first 65 miles.
Can understand why the SAS train in the Brecons and Herefordshire -- the place is inhospitable as f**k.

Passed through a lovely Welsh Town which we childish men found rather funny

8 months ago when I first published the idea of this challenge, I would never have expected to have raised £3,000 at all, let alone before I even start!

I have been absolutely blown away by the incredible support from friends, family, strangers and various fundraising events.
With only a few days to go until the ride starts (Sunday 24th July!) I just wanted to thank everyone who has supported me all year in the run up to this point.

Your support really means a tremendous amount to me and will drive me on over the next few weeks which will be full of ups and downs (literally and metaphorically!!)
Having already smashed my initial fundraising target, I hope that we can continue to raise as much as possible for Sands this Summer. Only one more donation until we reach 100 supporters on justgiving!!

I would love to see as many of you as possible at the Oddfellows Arms in Hemel Hempstead (the finish line) on the 13th August for a celebration of not only the ride and the challenge coming to an end, but to raise a glass (or 20 pints) on what would have been Poppy's 20th birthday 🎉🥂

Help Luke Glynn raise money to support Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity
