Just an update, tonight Monday 26th Oct we are pleased to say that a workforce from Bear Scotland arrived to clean out the drains in the area of the hall.

On behalf of the Trustees of Garve Public Hall we would like to thank everyone that’s turned up to save the hall from further flooding. A big shout out to the Highland Council in their speedy response in helping to stop the threat.
But what a disappointment in Bear Scotland, the reason for 90% of the flooding are that the drains and offlets were all blocked on the A835 from round the hotel corner to the Hall.
Thankfully unlike the two bear Scotland vans that passed the flooding, and went of down the road the local menfolk unblocked and rodded the drains thus stoping another disaster happening to the newly opened hall after the last flooding in July2026

URGENT COMMUNITY ALERT: Incident at Garve Village Hall / Safety ConcernsGood evening everyone,Does anyone know who the company CellTech (based in Lutterworth, LE17 4QU) is, or who they are currently contracting for in our area?Tonight (Sunday, 13th September, around 8:00 PM), two individuals representing this company violently tried to force their way into the Garve Village Hall. They did this despite fully knowing it is a community hall and not an accommodation block.We have not contacted the police regarding tonight's incident yet. The last time we reached out about a serious issue—involving an individual from the Garve Flats allegedly entering private properties and tampering with vehicles—it took the police four days just to return our call.This brings us to a major, ongoing issue affecting our village. We cannot understand why the Highland Council Licensing Department continues to allow the Garve Flats to operate. It is clearly an unlicensed property and, according to public reviews on Booking.com, it is entirely unsafe. Reviewers have described it as "derelict and dangerous" and stated "the owner should be put in prison."These types of incidents are happening on a regular basis now. It is causing genuine fear and alarm to the residents living close to the hall.If anyone has information on CellTech, their local operations, or who we can contact to get direct action on the Garve Flats, please comment below or send a direct message. We need to keep our community safe.

Hi everyone,

On Monday 17th August approval of the initial tender for repairs was approved by insurer’s loss adjuster.
On same day our contactors were informed. The works are a priority for them.

The contactor is now sourcing and arranging delivery of materials .
Labour will be allocated and sub-contractors arranged when the materials become available.

At this time it is not possible to give a start or completion date.

We will update the community when we can.

Our thanks to everyone who attended the Father’s Day Brunch at the hall today. A sum of £160 was donated towards the Event Group Funds. Looking forward to seeing you all in August.

Important Update Regarding Our Village Hall Craft Fairs.
After much deliberation, the Events Group has made the difficult decision to stop running the Craft Fairs at the Village Hall.This decision was not taken lightly. Unfortunately, we have faced a low turnout of stallholders and, most significantly, a major decline in visitor numbers. After speaking with several of our stall holders, we learned that this down-turn is a widespread trend currently affecting crafters across the entire county.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last three years—both our wonderful crafters and our loyal customers. Your support has meant the world to us.
