Frome Memorial Theatre

Frome Memorial Theatre 539 seat theatre in the heart of Frome. Offering diverse performances in a traditional theatre steeped in history. This promoted enormous public outcry.

The theatre opened in 1925 as a memorial hall in memory of those who fell in the 1st World War. During the 1930's seating was installed to accommodate audiences for the ever growing popularity of cinema and traded as "The Grand". Our theatre is now the focal point for not only remembering the fallen of the 1st World War but also World War 2 and other conflicts. The annual Remembrance Service in November is held at the theatre. The Assembly Rooms (formally known as the Hexagon Suite) were added to the complex during the 1970’s funded from the sale of the Frome Water Works to Bristol Water. Throughout the 1980’s and 90’s the Memorial Hall was little used and began to fall into disrepair; and the local authority planned to demolish it and build houses. A group formed with the sole intention of saving the hall and using it as a theatre and assembly rooms for community purposes, staffed only by volunteers – the rest as they say ‘is history’ Today the enterprise goes from strength to strength, and the theatre forms part of multi purpose leisure complex, including the Frome Assembly Rooms, which are also available for private hire.

COMING SOON! BEST SEATS SELLING FAST!

Russell Watson – one of the world’s most captivating performers – is going on his most intimate tour ever.

The performer known as ‘The Voice’ will embark on an intimate 45-date tour across England, Wales and Scotland this autumn. Russell – the original crossover superstar – exploded on to the music scene with The Voice, a debut album that shattered records and won hearts across the globe. Since then, he’s sold millions of albums, performed for popes, King Charles, the late Queen, presidents, and shared the stage with musical legends.

Now, in his most intimate tour to date, Russell will take audiences on a journey through the highs and lows of an extraordinary life – from chart-topping success to surviving not one, but two life-threatening illnesses. With warmth, humour, and a voice that soars, he’ll share the personal stories behind the spotlight. Expect powerful renditions of beloved classics, spine-tingling vocals, and behind-the-scenes tales from a man who’s truly lived it all. This is more than a concert – it’s a rare chance to spend an evening up close with The Voice himself. Russell said: “It’s hard to believe I have been in the business for 25 years – and what an incredible time I’ve had. I can’t wait to share the songs and stories that that shaped my career in the most intimate of settings!”

COMING SOON! KERRY ELLIS - ROCK ANTHEMS

Sir Brian May described Kerry Ellis as having ‘the most beautiful voice in Britain.’ So he asked her to sing Queen’s greatest hits in the smash hit musical, We Will Rock You. The duo met in 2002 and released three albums together, as well as touring the world. Rock anthems were the inspiration for award-winning singer Kerry Ellis, who is one of the greatest stars of musical theatre. And in this new show, she will explore her love of Rock Anthems as she pays homage to Queen, Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler and the other rock legends who inspired her. 13/09/2026

Join host of the Great British Sewing Bee Patrick Grant as he takes you behind the scenes of the Sewing Bee workroom, through Saville Row and on a journey to understanding what it means to craft and be creative in today’s world.

With no shortage of stories from his time on telly, Patrick shares some of the greatest triumphs as well as the last-minute disasters that are all part and parcel of making things that last.

Patrick will explore how our relationship with clothing has gone wrong in ways we barely notice: 100 billion garments produced every year, a third of them never worn, and the equivalent of a bin lorry full of clothes burned or buried every single second. But his argument is not nostalgic. It’s personal, economic, and quietly radical—about what gets lost when price becomes the only measure of value, and what might be recovered when it isn't.

With the chance to ask Patrick your own questions, expect an evening about craftmanship, creativity, and the joy of art in a world increasingly held together by Polyester and wishful thinking.
