Important Update from the Trustees
Following a recent private hire that resulted in damage to the hall, significant additional cleaning requirements, and conduct that fell below the standards expected of hall users, the Trustees have taken the decision to suspend all new weekend evening party bookings with immediate effect. This however does not affect existing evening bookings. Afternoon bookings until 8pm will continue to be available as normal and can be booked through the website.
This decision has not been taken lightly.
Frimley Village Hall was gifted to the community by Elizabeth Burrell in 1897 and has been serving local residents for well over a century. As trustees, we are volunteers with a responsibility to protect the hall, maintain it for future generations, and ensure that it remains a welcoming community asset for everyone.
The overwhelming majority of our hirers are respectful, considerate and appreciative of the opportunity to use the hall. Unfortunately, the events of the past weekend created a level of damage, disruption and volunteer workload that is simply not sustainable.
Existing bookings will be honoured. However, no new weekend evening party bookings will be accepted while the Trustees review how such events can be managed in a way that protects the hall, respects our neighbours and remains practical for a volunteer-run charity.
We would like to thank the many residents, hall users and volunteers who continue to support Frimley Village Hall and its charitable purpose. We remain committed to ensuring that the hall continues to serve the whole community, just as its founder intended.
