Tablehurst Young Farmers is a not-for-profit nourishing, wholesome and fun weekly club for children aged 0 - 16. We are a team of experienced people with a passion for taking children outdoors, to experience nature, learn more about animals, and get muddy on Tablehurst Organic and Biodynamic Farm. We care for the animals on the farm, grow vegetables, harvest, w**d, stack wood, build structures, he

June on the plot is something very lovely, with the sun hitting all the right places and the flowers in bloom! 🌸

The animals are all happier with steady ground underfoot and it’s great to see the rewards of harder months paying off with vegetables rising above the earth at last. The children across all sessions worked so very hard through winter to prepare for this season and it is wonderful to be here now. 🌱🫛🥬✨

And that’s a wrap on this Saturday block! 🌸

Did you know that we run four Saturdays in a row, pause for four and then return? It’s a lovely session for children to connect with the land and farm, who may not have the opportunity in the week and for those who don’t want to commit to every weekend.

Saturdays are hosted by our wonderful facilitators Terrie and Karen who have been a part of Young Farmers for many years. 👩‍🌾👩‍🌾

Another week of dancing with the weather, it never seems to stop us though! ☔️ ☀️ 🌈

This week the children have been busy tending to our plot, lots of w**ding and planting to do in this season! Moving the piggy trio, helping Marc with sheep horn care, building our biodynamic calendar and making charcoal pencils by the fire!

It is so wonderful to welcome our community in all seasons and weathers, we sure are a hardy bunch! 👨‍🌾🌿✨

Well this week the weather is certainly a little um, turbulent! ☔️ Nothing at all last week where the children were busy crafting their bows, designing and building a beautiful biodynamic calendar for our space, all in beautiful high sun! 🌞

No matter the weather we show up on the plot and today Tara Jane hosts our new Wednesday Farm Kids! It feels very exciting to have new families joining us and if they have a wonderful time in the rain, well that bodes well doesn’t it! ✨

Oh the golden sun! Where better to finish a session with an ice lolly and your feet in the stream?

We do love our plot but there is very little shade. On hot days we take our learning, craft (like jam making as seen here) and lunch to the woods, it is such a blessing having access to these beautiful places. 🌿

We would love to start talking about fundraising and funding over the coming weeks, if you are or know anyone who could offer some guidance could you please point us in the right direction? Thank you! ✨
