The Spitfire’s sea-going sister is coming to Kent.

The Supermarine Seafire XVII SX336 - born of the same legendary bloodline as the Spitfire, hardened for carrier operations - will fly at Headcorn International Airshow 2026, brought to you by the experts at .

Built by Westland at Yeovil in April 1946, SX336 entered Royal Navy service that same year, believed to have served with 833 Naval Air Squadron. By 1955 she was condemned to the scrapheap - yet somehow survived.

Her fuselage was discovered in derelict condition in 1973, and after decades of changing hands, it was former US Navy pilot Tim Manna who ensured she would fly again, commissioning a full restoration by Kennet Aviation at North Weald. Her Certificate of Airworthiness was issued in 2003, and she took to the skies again in 2006.

Today she flies in the markings of 767 NAS, RNAS Yeovilton - and in November 2021, she came home to for good.

Extraordinarily rare in the air. Irreplaceable in history. Don’t miss her at Headcorn this summer.

✈️ SPITFIRE ANNOUNCEMENT #2 | TA805 IS COMING TO HEADCORN ✈️

Following our first announcement of N3200, the iconic MkI from Arco, we are thrilled to reveal our second Spitfire - and she’s one of Kent’s own. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX – TA805 | ‘Spirit of Kent’
Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar

Born at Castle Bromwich in the closing months of the Second World War, TA805 is a living piece of history. She was accepted by the RAF in January 1945, flew with the legendary 183 (Gold Coast) Squadron and later 234 Squadron — a wing led by Battle of Britain ace and celebrated test pilot W/Cdr Roland ‘Bee’ Beamont DSO & Bar DFC. It is even possible she took part in the 1945 Battle of Britain commemorative flight over London.

After service with the South African Air Force, she was rescued from the scrapyard, painstakingly restored over more than a decade by Airframe Assemblies on the Isle of Wight, and took to the skies again in December 2005 - wearing the colours of 234 Squadron.

She has called Biggin Hill home since 2011. And this summer, she’s coming to Headcorn 🙌

Two Spitfires (so far 👀). Two eras. One incredible show.
