2pm - Browse displays and gain in-person advice from Right To Roam West Yorkshire , sharing insights into land access rights, and local and national involvement in the campaign.
Wildlife Friendly Otley , the UK’s first wildlife-friendly town, explain their work and offers guidance on how you can make your town wildlife-friendly too.
3pm - WILD SERVICE FESTIVAL LAUNCH & TALK - Poet, artist and activist Briony Spandler describes the ethos behind Right To Roam’s book Wild Service. For this private viewing of O BARC ODES FROM THE EDGERHOW, her innovative visual ecopoem created in response to observations made of a single hedgerow and its entanglement with litter. She will describe the intriguing journey that led to the work, including collaborations with ecologists, scientists, and activists.
BREAK - grab refreshments, browse the exhibit.
4pm - Live performance of the solo work of Jonnie Mallatratt, indie-folk writer-guitarist, aka Floating Temples, who uses an array of open tunings and a loop pedal to bring his musical vision to life. Jonnie was shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Tune Into Nature’ Prize, judged by Sam Lee and Cosmo Sheldrake.
4.30pm Live spoken word poetry from Gracie Spandler .rhymes, who navigates life through writing and rhyming about her experiences, trying to make sense of her time on the planet. She has headlined at both Leeds and Bradford Literature Festivals, Blur The Lines West Yorkshire Playhouse, Ilkley Literature Festival Fringe, and toured with Mike Garry and has read at spoken word events and open mics across Northern England.
O BARC ODES FROM THE EDGERHOW exhibition is on from Wednesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm, 11th - 30th October.
