Faringdon Fun Run Sunday 30th April 2017 will be the 3rd Faringdon Fun Run. Like our page to keep up to date. Year 1 there were 50 runners, last year we had 105.

Will our 3rd event keep the momentum going? Please support us and join the fun. The whole family can take part (under 14s with adult supervision). You can go at your own pace, walk, jog, sprint!!!! Just get your trainers on and enjoy the fresh air. Sunday 30th April - 10.30am

FUN RUN POSTPONED
With this weeks Government advice on the Cornavirus we can confirm that the Faringdon Family Fun Run (26th April 2020) has been postponed.

We will look at new dates once we have all got through this troubling time. Please stay safe and stay at home.

Sunday 26th April.
Faringdon Family 5k Fun Run is a fundraising event for . It has now taken on a life of its own and is growing every year. This year we'd like to target 200 runners. We're happy for runners/walkers of any age and ability to join in. Entrants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult though. This year Faringdon Family Fun Run (5K), will be on Sunday, April 26th 2020 - 10.30am Start.
It's a great Faringdon event and we encourage the whole family to take part. Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our little family fun run today. Once again it's safe to say the family part is very important. Just take a look at the photos! The age range and ability of the runners was massive. With some little legends running a full 5K. This is exactly why we run the event, its something for all ages to get involved with.

Watching the mass warm-up, was brilliant with all the runners getting into the spirit, its a great way to start. Thanks to Mission Fitness UK for doing this for us again this year. It was also great to see the support runners gave once they'd crossed the finish line, staying and cheering every person home.

Thanks to the team from YoCO for marshalling the course for us today, it was a big help and much appreciated.

If you're looking to keep up your running Far Runners, are the people to get in touch with, they're a very sociable group and offer plenty of options for all abilities.

Dear Fellow Faringdonians

This Sunday (28th April) Faringdon Family Fun Run (5K) 2019 will take place. You will see a few more runners (joggers, walkers, & pushchair pushers) on the pavements around Faringdon than a normal Sunday morning.

Thank you to those who've already registered for the run, the Far Runners running group and the volunteers from YouthChallenge Oxfordshire (YoCO) for helping with marshalling this years run.

The run starts at 10.30am from Faringdon Town Football Club, Tucker Park, Park Road. The route will take them along Park Road, up Coxwell Street/Road to FCC around the playing field then through Marlborough Gardens finally ending back at Tucker Park.

Runners will be using the pavements but will have to cross roads, so please be patient, especially at the top and bottom of Marlborough Gardens. There is a wide range of ages taking part, as its a family friendly event and we'd like them all to return safely, please!

Online registration is now closed, but you can still turn up and register on the day. We had over 150 runners last year and are hoping for similar numbers again this year. We will be open from 9.30am.

All money raised goes towards Live at the Park

We are planing to run a charity walk/run on 8th July. There will be a 3km route and a 5km route. If you would like to take part in this then please fill in a form when you are next in the gym along with your money to enter, otherwise we can email you the form. All money raised will be going to the charity - children with cancer. If you can spare 1 hour out of your Sunday to join us to raise money for this great charity. Thank you Hayley and Graham Pardew

A big thanks to everyone who joined our fun run this year. We had around 130 take part, including a duck and some cats! The rain stayed away (mostly) but it was definitely a bit on the chilly side.

Looking through the photos, I see lots of smiles and the family element really at the heart of it of it all, which is what we're all about. There were long-time runners that had never run with a group before and others at the start of the running journey. The age range was massive with runners of all abilities taking part.

Thanks to the Far Runners who came out in force again this year and Graham from Mission Fitness UK who sorted out a great warm-up to get the day started.

We don't keep a record of times, but here's who finished in the top 3.
Adult Men - 1st Alex Thompson, 2nd Chris Lewis, 3rd John Durrant.
Adult Women - 1st Emma Taylor-Wheat, 2nd Angela Bugden, 3rd Beth Goulding.
Junior Boys - 1st 48 Dutton, 2nd 62 Conor Horan, 3rd 47
Junior Girls - 1st Aeryn Rogers, 2nd Iona Sucksmith, 3rd 168 Hannah

Faringdon Fun Run started as and still is a fundraising event for Live at the Park, but its certainly gaining a life of its own.

Fellow Faringdonians, this Sunday (29th April), you may notice a few more runners (joggers, walkers, & pushchair pushers) on the pavements around Faringdon than a normal Sunday.
