Maris Otter Beer Festival & Celebration News

Ten years ago today we launched the Maris Otter 50 Beer Festival at OPEN in Norwich. It was a celebration of fifty years of Maris Otter malting barley, put together by H Banham Ltd and Moon Gazer Ale. It was a remarkable festival, with fifty new beers from some of the best UK and worldwide brewers. It was such a special event to be part of, thank you to everyone who supported it.
This year we marked the sixty years of Maris Otter as part of Norwich City Of Ale, which was a great way to carry on celebrating.

On 22nd May Norwich City Of Ale is launched. To tie in with the 60th anniversary of our fabulous Maris Otter barley the trails are malt and barley themed, and the collectable pin badges feature a lovely otter. https://www.cityofale.org.uk/trails
We were very pleased to be asked to be part of this month long festival in and around the wonderful city of Norwich, which is promoting the great local breweries and public houses. It's a nice tie-in, as Norfolk farmers grow some of the best malting barley in the country, the key ingredient in beer, which is something we should be proud of in this county. A lot of the barley will be malted at Crisp Malt at Great Ryburgh, so it keeps it all local.
