Band leader, heartfelt jazz vocalist and quite brilliant jazz & blues guitarist Denny Ilett, is a firm favourite with audiences both here and throughout mainland Europe. Whether it’s interpreting blues classics, singing ‘Sinatra' or leading his Jimi Hendrix Big Band experience (selling out Ronnie Scotts for seven days straight), Denny is highly musical and always entertaining. He’s agreed to play two sets of his favourite pieces including some references to Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles peppered with some of the greatest American Songbook classics. Denny’s A-Class rhythm section includes 16 times award winning jazz pianist David Newton, bassist Paul Jefferies and (TBC) Jamie Cullum’s celebrated drummer Sebastian de Krom.

Simon Spillett Quartet

One of the UK’s foremost jazz tenor saxophonists takes to the stage at The Jazz Club at Fairford with a Rhythm section comprising pianist Bruno D'Ambra, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Nick Millward. For over three decades, Simon Spillett has performed at the highest level throughout the UK and beyond gracing stages such as Ronnie Scotts regularly both as a small ensemble leader and arranger / leader of one of the finest Big Bands in the UK today. His command of swing and bebop - particularly the music of the late, great Tubby Hayes - is legendary, yet he has a sensitive side to his playing and he assures us this will be very much on show at this performance.
