Exeter Pirate Day 2026 may be over, but our mission is relentless and as fierce as the oceans our heroes at the RNLI brave every day to save lives at sea. 🏴☠️
Keep reading to see how even £1 can save a life at sea, and please consider making a small donation to our JustGiving Page, where the money given will be divided between our local RNLI Teignmouth and RNLI Exmouth.
🚤⚓👇 Even £1 can make a huge difference 👇⚓🚤
For every £1 donated to the RNLI, approximately 54p is used for lifeboats, property, and equipment, while 28p goes towards running the lifeboat service. This means your donation directly supports essential lifesaving activities.
How Your £1 Donation Supports the RNLI:
When you donate £1 to the RNLI, your contribution is allocated to various essential services and equipment that help save lives at sea.
Here’s a breakdown of how that £1 is utilized:
Lifeboats, property, and equipment - 54p can support the purchase and maintenance of lifeboats and necessary equipment.
Running the lifeboat service - 28p can cover operational costs, including crew training and service maintenance.
Lifeguard rescue - 12p can fund lifeguard services on beaches, ensuring safety for beachgoers.
Safety, education, and awareness - 4p can promote water safety education and awareness campaigns.
International drowning prevention 2p - Supports global initiatives to prevent drowning incidents.
Your donation helps maintain a modern fleet of lifeboats, which are crucial for rescue operations.
Funds are used to train volunteer crews, ensuring they are prepared for emergencies.
Supports lifeguards who patrol popular beaches, enhancing safety for the public.
Contributes to educational programs that raise awareness about water safety.
Every penny of your donation plays a vital role in the RNLI's mission to save lives at sea.
