Any enquiries to [email protected] Etwall Well Dressing started in 1970 with just two wells. Today, thanks to a whole community effort, we have sometimes up to 10 well dressings and are one of the largest festivals in the county. The festival always takes place on the third full weekend in May and its main aim (other than to have fun) is to bring the community together and raise money for the

beneficiaries who are selected each year by the parishoners of the five parishes who attend the AGM. We came together again in 2022 after a two year enforced break when we belatedly celebrated 50 years of Well Dressing in Etwall with a super fly past of the Lancaster bomber. Next year our festival will take place on 20th, 21st and 22nd, 2023

This is the saddest day of the festival, having to clear the boards of our designs. Thank you to all who made it down to help, the boards have now gone from the village and stored away for next year. Thanks to Heavy 💪 Team for all their hard work.
Next years's Well Dressing Festival will be May 15th-17th 2027. See you then?☺️

Thank you for your interest in our well dressing. The well dressings are taken down on Thursday afternoon, 21st May 2026, they are open to the elements so as time goes on the petals start to drop. It's still pretty good but not as pristine as it was at the weekend.

Some close up shots of our David Attenborough Etwall Well Dressing, celebrating his 100th Birthday. Created by the Community Well Team. Created over 5 days, over 320 hours of work, by experienced and newly trained volunteers. We are so pleased at the end result! We just hope Sir David, gets to see it.
