Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe is launching a new 28-tonne materials handler. The HW270A MH is aimed at customers looking for a powerful handling solution for medium to heavy-duty applications.

The machine uses a wider and longer undercarriage than a wheeled excavator, with outriggers at both ends to maximise stability when working at reach. Available with a choice of straight or gooseneck arms, the handler offers a maximum working reach of up to 12.41m with a maximum bucket pin height of 5.4m. It can be used with a range of attachments.

Powered by a six-cylinder Stage V diesel engine, the handler boasts an output of 141kW (189hp). The engine is equipped with a variable pressure turbocharger, while a standard reversible cooling fan aims to help improve fuel efficiency.

Wick-based lifting and plant hire specialist Hugh Simpson Contractors Ltd has invested in a new LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane.

Liebherr Great Britain revealed that the arrival of the 400-tonne machine marks the first of its kind in Scotland. The six-axle model features a 70-metre telescopic boom and is the smallest crane in the manufacturer’s portfolio with the Y-Guying system, designed to increase both lifting capacity and lateral stability.

Hugh Simpson has specified the unit with an 80.5-metre luffing jib, delivering a hoist height of 120 metres and a working radius of 97 metres. This makes it suited to projects that require extended reach over structures.

CASE Construction Equipment has added to its compact portfolio with new backhoe and electric mini track loaders.

The manufacturer is entering the European sub-80hp backhoe loader segment for the first time with the new 550SV. Developed as a ‘straightforward, productive and cost-effective’ machine, the model is designed for construction, municipal and rental applications.

The machine is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 74hp (55kW). The EU Stage V engine uses a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) after-treatment system, without the need for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) or AdBlue.

CASE is also expanding its range of electric utility machines with the new TL100EV electric mini track loader. Designed for landscaping, urban and farming applications, the model combines electric power with a 1.3-tonne tipping load and ‘high manoeuvrability’.

Nixon Hire has announced an investment of over £1 million in a new fleet of large battery storage units through an exclusive UK hire partnership with Infinity Cube Europe.

The move will enable the business to support larger projects and a wider range of power demands with lower-emission temporary power.

Under the initial 18-month agreement, which has scope to be extended, Nixon Hire explained that it will be the only UK hire company able to offer Infinity Cube Europe’s Pro range of large battery storage units. The investment covers 14 units, six of which have already been deployed on customer sites, with eight more due later this month. A further four units are expected by the end of the year.

Develon has announced the launch of the new DX300LC-9 32-tonne crawler excavator.

The model joins the Series 9 smart excavator range and offers the same combination of full electronic hydraulic (FEH) technology and integrated artificial intelligence. It joins the existing 23-tonne DX230LC-9, 26-tonne DX260LC-9, 37-tonne DX360LC-9, and 42-tonne DX400HD-9 excavators in the portfolio.

As well as enhanced cab lighting and safety features, Develon said the DX300LC-9 utilises the ‘best soundproofing on the market’, providing the lowest noise level of only 67 dBA in the 30-tonne segment.

ScotPlant 2026 exhibitor Flannery Plant Hire has deployed the first Cat 320 electric medium excavator in the UK.

Supplied by Finning UK & Ireland, the machine will support the hire company in delivering sustainable operations across large infrastructure projects.

Molson Scotland has been appointed as the official Bell ADT dealer north of the border.

The move follows the success of Molson Group’s US-based Powerscreen businesses, which already represents Bell and is said to have performed ‘strongly’.

The Bell range will be available for Scottish businesses to purchase from the start of October. Alistair Murdoch, sales director for Molson Scotland, said, “It’s great to have a new ADT in the range. The Bell brand is really well known and well respected in the market. This means we can offer higher tonnage classes, so no matter how big an operation is, we can help Scottish companies of any size to meet their goals.”

ScotPlant 2026 exhibitor Nixon Hire has reported a 6% increase in revenue from its ongoing site solutions business to £80.7 million for the year ended December 2025. The firm has also recorded a near 8% rise in underlying EBITDA to £22.5 million.

The business said the growth is evidence that the company’s repositioning from general plant hire to specialist sustainable site solutions is gaining traction.

The strategy is built around its ‘Golden Triangle’ model, which brings together site accommodation and welfare units, off-grid renewable energy and modular buildings, supported by complementary services and site data.

Wacker Neuson has released details of its new product launches this autumn, including the EW135 wheeled excavator and WL750p and WL950p wheel loaders.

The EW135, boasting driving speeds of up to 35 km/h, represents the next generation of the manufacturer’s wheeled excavators, featuring a fixed boom system, intelligent hydraulics, MiC technology, and preparations for assistance systems to support versatile attachment applications.

The new WL750p and WL950p wheel loaders, meanwhile, are said to combine high pushing power, powerful hydraulic performance, and speeds of up to 40 km/h.
