ScotPlant 2026 debutant Stevens Equipment Rental has supplied more than 20 machines to help RJ McLeod carry out work on the UK’s largest dry dock expansion at Kishorn Port in Strathcarron.

RJ McLeod is extending the dry dock and creating new laydown land. The machinery package on site includes Volvo A45 and A30 articulated haulers; Volvo EC550, EC400, and EC300 excavators; Volvo L180 wheel loaders; Caterpillar 352 excavators; and Caterpillar D7 and D6 dozers.

Alloa-based O’Kane Equipment Solutions has enjoyed early success after being appointed the official distributor for Astec’s crushing, screening and washing equipment across Scotland and northern England.

The portfolio includes the Frontier SF20 mobile screening plant, which made a well-received appearance at ScotPlant 2026 on the Mellex Group Ltd stand.

The new Bobcat T650 compact track loaders have started rolling off the production line.

Combining the capabilities of the 600-frame M-Series platform with the latest Stage V engine technology, the T650 is powered by a 2.4-litre Bobcat engine delivering 55 kW (74 HP).

The model is fully Stage V-compliant without the need for AdBlue.

ScotPlant 2026 exhibitor Evans Engineering Solutions helped to tackle the recent Cairngorms wildfire by supplying a customised machine described as ‘one of the best firefighting kits you could ask for’.

The devastating wildfire, which started in mid-July, impacted an estimated 25 square kilometres of the Cairngorms National Park, with over 500 firefighters tackling the blaze at its peak, alongside a number of volunteers and a range of specialist equipment including heavy construction machines.

One piece of kit utilised was a 15-tonne Morooka tracked dumper, customised by Evans on behalf of customer Duncan G Grant. The machine was revamped to carry 4,000 litres of water and have three pumps running – one high-flow, two-inch pump and two additional fogging units that produce a mist spray – with both pumps combining to produce a longer-range cannon on the front.

Develon has launched an upgraded version of its DX35Z-7 four-tonne Stage V-compliant mini-excavator.

A DW01 18.4 kW (25 HP) diesel engine replaces the previous D17 engine in a move the manufacturer said provides better performance for heavy duty applications. The zero tail swing design of the DX35Z-7 makes it suited to work in confined spaces.

Accessibility has been improved with an increase in the stand tilting angle and by enlarging the width of the cab entrance. Inside the cab, there is a new orange seat belt and greater comfort with a reduction of the heat from the seat and enhanced engine heat dissipation through a change from a sucker type cooling system to a blower type set-up.

Forsyth of Denny has purchased Scotland’s first Liebherr LTM 1300-6.4 six-axle all-terrain crane.

The delivery follows the arrival of the firm’s first LTM 1300-6.3 in 2024. With this latest addition, the company now operates two 300-tonne Liebherr cranes equipped with 90-metre main booms, providing flexibility for a range of applications, including renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

The LTM 1300-6.4 features an eight-section 90-metre telescopic boom that can be carried complete on public roads while maintaining a 12-tonne axle load. A range of jib and boom configurations enables a maximum hook height of 120 metres and a radius of up to 90 metres, making the crane suited to tasks such as tower crane er****on and wind turbine maintenance.
