ONLY A FEW HOURS TO GO...

The Ian Lindsay and Sarah Conniff Duo -
Ian (he/him) and Sarah (she/her) are a guitar and fiddle duo who play trad, folk, and blues, as well as their own original material. Ian has been playing for more than 40 years in a variety of styles, including ceilidh music and flamenco. Sarah learned the fiddle at school, and has been having a go at any instrument she can get her hands on ever since. They met playing at Edinburgh’s Captain’s Folk Bar and now host weekly open sessions together!

And still there's more...!

Returning to IGAM, Lauren Green (she/her) .greenn_ is an indie singer-songwriter from Somerset. Recently, she wrote and directed the folk musical 'Our Seventh String' in Melbourne, Australia (album coming soon!). Her own music is inspired by artists such as Laura Marling, and Flyte, producing an acoustic sound with her voice and guitar accompaniment. She has also performed in many musical theatre productions, such as playing Janet Van De Graaf in a Melbourne production of 'The Drowsy Chaperone', and is very excited to be playing 'The Witch' in 'Into the Woods' this coming January. You can follow her work

Seli Kalra (she/her) founded the Happenings... now IGAM in her second year at Edinburgh University. Her debut in Edinburgh started by acting, writing and directing for Theatre Company, and performing with indie-psych band . Following a year in California, where she performed with .jazz, and the funk band , she is now focusing on blues, jazz and traditional music in tongues, with the gradual integration of her new stage piece, Aurelia.

The perfect time to peek at our next welcome guests...

INTRODUCING: Juno Szczawińska (She/Her, They/Them) is a creator in the broadest sense: they put together brick-a-bracks, scraps, things that matter, a collection of oddities, a mosaic of senses. While remaining a multi-media artist, these days they tend to gravitate to poetry: they co-founded and currently sit as vice-president of the University’s Spoken Word and Poetry Society .uoedinburgh as well as uploading regular poetry and artwork to their instagram revolving around tenderness, queerness and fleeting time. In their words, their ultimate goal is “to make things that linger”.

INTRODUCING: Islay Allen-Hopkins (He/Him) .musician is a multi-instrumentalist performer and composer working in contemporary jazz and modal makam/dastgah music. His presentation for this concert will be a set of pieces and improvisations for Oud, in the mode of Shur and some of its branches.

Good morning from our Exhibition Artists...

INTRODUCING: Yousuf Malik (He/Him) is a photographer at the Edinburgh College of Art. His work spans a variety of genres but has taken a focus on portraiture and abstraction. Currently his practice explores the identity of being a dual citizen living in the UK during a tumultuous political landscape and his South Asian heritage.

INTRODUCING: Cosmo Jones (She/Her, They/Them) is a returning favourite at IGAM. While she used to focus on sculpture, on Tuesday she will exhibit her recent pieces with paint.  Her work revolves around science-fiction ideas and real world space politics in a fine art context, often using a variety of painting techniques.

INTRODUCING: Freya McCall (She/Her) is an apprentice storyteller, a student of Scottish literature, and forever on the hunt for whimsical and mystical stories in various formats - whether this be in writing plays from imagined stories like her recent Fringe debut, Sins of the Mother, or in the traditional folk tales of Scotland. Freya has been involved in various plays and showcases with the EUTC at Bedlam Theatre, including Untold Stories (.Bedlam), which championed local female and non-binary voices in performance.

INTRODUCING: Moteh Parrot (He/Him, They/Them) is an Edinburgh-based alternative-indie-folk artist
Born in Cameroon to parents working in rainforest conservation. Given the local name ‘Mnkongmoteh’, his music compliments Celtic-infused guitars and cello with lyrics of hope and healing. The result has been likened to "a Highland wilderness with all the sweeping colour and spirit which that encompasses". Shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotland’s Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award, Moteh recently released his debut album, which was recorded at Chem19 studios with Paul Savage, producer of Mogwai, Arab strap, and King Creosote, among other renowned Scottish artists.
