Save the date - 9th August 2025 Trails 📆 We’ve been given the all clear by Apple developers that the app is good to go. This means you can try challenge yourself and find the tags in the fastest time 🕰️ Everyone is welcome MTB/EMTB/GRAVEL, and a big thank you to Tarland Tearooms who offer a discount if you show your ride in the NuZones app.

It’s been a busy few weeks trying to balance making the most of Edinburgh’s beautiful weather and progressing with NuZones 😃☀️

One brilliant bit of feedback from our unofficial launch at Tarland was around responsive design. The app has now been totally rebuilt to accommodate all from font size HUGE to standard 👌📲

June involved lots of exploring around the Golfie. Even though it is maybe the most popular MTB spot in the UK, there is still plenty of trails out there. Our favourite was Swag Daddy and the Sheep’s Leg 🦵 🐑

Also the blank space previously on show by unfilled leaderboards has had some extra logic built in. Instead of being empty when there are no efforts recorded, the leaderboard says that nothing has been added.
Although this sounds like a small job it took a bit longer than expected 🚀🚵‍♀️

Finally picked up our new signage to be installed at Tarland and had some fun looking at the great footage collected by Ben last month 🏆

The app is in the final review stage with IOS and needs a couple of Android testers to get it over the finish line.
If anyone fancies trying to break the Android version then pls drop me a message.

After a useful conversation with Calum Mcbain, I’m going to try put myself out there on socials a bit more to put a face to NuZones. So you may be seeing a few more talking videos from now on. The launch went well with the app functioning as expected. All the times collected and riders enjoying the adventure focussed race around Tarland Trails. Some fast times set across a variety of categories & some excellent feedback captured. Some of this related to the app’s UI/UX, with emphasis on usability across different devices. So over the next few weeks the plan is to build these changes into the app & work towards an official launch date later in the summer. A big thank you to all who came along, Chris Redmond for supporting, and to the Tarland Tearooms for their discount for our riders. Look forward to seeing some of you tackling the Tarland zone and trying to beat some our riders already on the leaderboard 🏆

NuZones is about adventuring and trying something new. We had a well received trial last weekend, where riders came out and explored the best trails Tarland has to offer 🚵‍♀️With the sun on riders back’s and the trails running fast it was a recipe for a fun day. We are now taking learnings away from this to finalise the NuZones package into a cross platform mobile application ✅Keep your eyes peeled for our launch coming this Summer!
