Qatar Police Academy Band and Drill Team are joining us for the very first time on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade!

Like the Tattoo, founded in 1950, the band shares the same passion for spectacular sound, precision and bringing energy that doesn't just make audiences experience the show, but feel it!

They tell us why they've answered this year's call to perform on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade for a Call to Gather.

As night fell above the city of Edinburgh, the carnyx sounded its call to gather for the Tattoo this August.

From Calton Hill, overlooking the city at sunset, a lone performer played the ancient war horn, marking the start of the countdown to this year’s show, A Call to Gather.

This is not just a call to the people of Edinburgh, but to those across the world. Answer it and join us this August on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

Be part of it. Book now.

It's been over 40 years since The German Army Band from Koblenz performed at the Tattoo, but they're finally back!

We're delighted they're joining us in their 70th Anniversary year to be part of the gathering and perform on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. We can't wait to welcome them.

Was anyone there in 1986 when they last performed?

When we march, the city of Edinburgh becomes part of the performance.🎉

At the end of each night, the Massed Pipes and Drums make their way down the Royal Mile and on to Johnston Terrace, drawing a buzz from passers-by, locals and visitors alike, all waiting in anticipation to witness the spectacle for themselves.

Yesterday was World Fiddle Day, a moment to celebrate how traditional music brings people together and keeps heritage alive.

Through our Traditional Arts Programme, the fiddler community came together for a gathering in Tarland, an area known for its rich fiddle tradition.

This is the impact of supporting traditional arts. Watch the gathering and see it in action.

Two weeks since performing at Twickenham Stadium, the largest rugby stadium in the world.

We brought the entertainment to the Army vs Navy charity match in support of the Royal Marines Charity.

A huge thank you for having us involved in such a special event, and to Vodafone, our presenting partner, for their support in making our participation possible.

It was an honour to be part of a day that brought together sport, service and community on such a remarkable pitch.

The Drum Major. The connection between the band director and the thunderous Massed Pipes and Drums.

A leader who, with technical skill and confidence, leads the band onto the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade and guides them using the ceremonial mace and precise hand gestures.

Can you imagine being the one to lead a military band of this size?
