Portobello Town Hall is looking for a friendly, organised and people‑loving Event Assistant to join us this Spring! If you enjoy creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere and you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to help events run smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
✨ Pay: £13.45 per hour
📅 Dates: w/c 20 April – 27 July 2026
⏰ Hours: 8 hours a week, worked flexible during weekends — some busy weeks, some quieter ones

You’ll help keep our events running safely, smoothly and with a big smile — from opening up the building to supporting visitors, hirers and community groups throughout their visit.
If you’re proactive, welcoming and love working with people, this could be the perfect Spring role for you!

💼 About the Role: We’re looking for someone organised, friendly, and proactive to help manage the daily running of our vibrant community venue. You’ll work closely with staff, board members, and our hirers to keep everything running smoothly.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing:
· Coordinating venue bookings and events
· Being the main point of contact for hall users
· Supporting operations and administration
· Helping us grow community use of the space
🌱 We’re Looking for Someone Who:
· Is confident communicating with a range of people
· Has strong organisational and admin skills
· Enjoys working as part of a small team
· Is interested in community-led organisations

Calling all Still Game fans! Paul Riley will be bringing his brand new stand up show to Porty Town Hall this Saturday.

Ahead of his show, Paul says “My last couple of tours have been really well received, so I’m looking forward to this new show, it’s going to be great fun! I’ll be talking about how salmon are the happiest of all fish, right through to the long-forgotten art of making a proper complaint. It’s going to be interesting, informative, and very, very funny. I’m looking forward seeing folks there!”
