TENNIS IN MIDLOTIHAN

Active Schools were delighted to host their very first Tennis festival in partnership with Tennis Scotland.
This festival took place at the newly refurbished Kings Parks Courts and welcomed 50 pupils from 3 local schools to try out some fun tennis games, skills and drills.
A great morning of Tennis – thank you to our Active Schools volunteers and tennis leaders for helping to run the morning and to Olivia from Tennis Scotland.

If you are interested in playing Tennis – please see information on the three courts in Midlothian available to hire out at only £5 per hour, with access to equipment.
Please also note local clubs in the area – Rosewell Tennis Club and Dalkeith Tennis Club.
Lots of Tennis opportunities in Midlothian – give it a go this summer!

We are excited to share our 3 young people leadership offerings from 2026-27:

⭐ Active Schools Leadership Academy: Inspiring the next generation of sport leaders – coaching courses and practical sport coach placement in local primary schools

⭐ Future Coaches: Providing hands-on football coaching experience, developing skills to plan and deliver engaging football sessions.

⭐ Young Ambassadors: Providing a voice for sport within your school – helping to shape sport and create new opportunities for pupils in your school.

Well done to school staff who participated in the playground leaders & football leader training this morning✏️💡

As part of staff CPD during the in-service day, staff shared ideas and picked up some knowledge on how to support young leadership within their school settings🏆👏🏻
