Choirpower Choirpower is a mixed adult choir that sing for fun. Our repetoire includes songs from shows and fil Choirpower is a mixed choir, based in East Grinstead.

There are between 40-50 singers at present, many of whom have been with the choir for many years. We are affiliated to the National Operatic & Dramatic Association ( NODA)

OUR PURPOSE: To create a choir for people to discover and improve their singing abilities, so that they get enjoyment and satisfaction from singing and performing a variety of music to a high level of competence. Our Musical Di

rector is Marion Shuster and our accompanist, Sue Harvey. They are well known local performers, teachers and conductors. The choir performs show songs, jazz standards, and popular songs, as well as light classics and folk song arrangements. We have performed more than 80 concerts during the last 17 years! We rehearse on Thursday evenings in Chequer Mead Arts Centre. We start promptly at 8.00 p.m., with a short warm up and exercises to improve singing and choir techniques. We always welcome new members and although we do not hold auditions, it is helpful to have a grasp of music reading. You can join one of Marion’s Music Reading Workshops which will give you the basics you need to get started, if you don’t read music already.

Had a great rehearsal on Thursday for our upcoming concert. Passers by were heard to comment....amazing!...fantastic!....stonking!....great programme! Come along and hear us for yourself.

Come along to Chequer Mead in East Grinstead on 26 November from 7.30 and enjoy some festive singing by Choirpower and the Greenstede Singers.
