‘Behind the Curtains’ is a window installation by illustrator and printmaker laurenmorsley, originally commissioned by Urban Outfitters. Inspired by the chaos of Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the display gives us a peek behind the scenes of a production, showing us the colourful world that unfolds before the spotlight hits and the show begins 🎭

Spotlight / Light Show 📢

The presence of light is something we generally take for granted. The familiar flipping of a light switch or the constancy of the sun (especially in Scotland’s sunniest city!) is part of our daily lives. Yet the natural phenomenon of light is essential to everything we see, know and experience. It has been harnessed, generated and studied by scientists and artists alike 💡

This multi-disciplinary exhibition brings together objects from across Museum Collections, University of Dundee's collections, including art and design, science, medicine and natural history, inviting visitors to consider how light inspires art, impacts nature and informs discovery.

Hannah Sabapathy is a Dundee-based designer who interrogates the power dynamics behind South Asian and British textile history. In this talk she'll discuss her learnings from Whanganui, NZ, including research into tapa cloth and "bad" plant specimens.

Marking 30 years of Maggie’s, this new exhibit celebrates the pioneering design of these much-loved cancer care centres. Featuring newly commissioned films and interviews, personal objects, photography, sketches, architects’ models, and quiet reflective spaces, the exhibition explores how architecture affects people’s emotions and the powerful impact of inspiring environments.
