📚📖✨ THIS WEEKEND: Dundee’s biggest weekend of books kick off today as Dundee Book Festival returns for 2026!

The festival is bringing more than 25 events to the city from 19-21 June. With most tickets just £5, it’s a fantastic opportunity to hear from bestselling authors, historians, poets, journalists, chefs and storytellers all in one place.

There is something for every interest and every age. Explore Scottish history with Professor Chris Whatley, discover contemporary fiction with Graeme Armstrong and Graeme Macrae Burnet, hear nature writer Jim Crumley, celebrate 75 years of Dennis the Menace with Beano, or enjoy family events featuring Debi Gliori and Ross MacKenzie.

The festival also welcomes the Mobile National Poetry Library to Dundee as part of A Poet in Every Port. Taking place outside The McManus across the weekend, visitors can enjoy free workshops, live readings, performances and creative activities celebrating poetry, language and Dundee’s own voices.

Local talent sits proudly alongside national names throughout the programme, with appearances from Erin Farley, Robin Crawford, Taylor Dyson, Zoe Venditozzi, Cat MacLeod and many more. Whether you’re a lifelong reader, aspiring writer or simply curious to discover something new, there’s an event waiting for you.

And last but no means least, Jade Anderson will be joining us for GLISK this Sunday as pairt o Dundee Book Festival ✨

6pm, Sunday 21st join us for a showcase o new work by Taylor Dyson directed by Calum Kelly

We are also running a FREE performance Poetry workshop the same day at 2pm all taking place in the Central Library💞

Jade Anderson is a Q***r, Dundonian, Actor, Writer and Facilitator.
She graduated in 2019 from QMU and Edinburgh Napier Universities with her BA (Hons) in Acting for Stage and Screen.
Since then Jade has worked with a variety of companies including Stand Easy Productions, Elfie Picket Theatre and Dundee Rep Theatre.

Jerry Fabin is a Dundee based folk band playing contemporary originals and adaptations of traditional Celtic and Anglo folk songs. Their upcoming first album explores loss, change and the relationship between personal identity and anti-fascim.
