Allan Moffat

1947–2026

It is with great sadness that Dumfries and Lockerbie Agricultural Society announces the passing of our Senior Director, Allan Moffat.

Allan was a dedicated supporter of the Society, having brought his lifetime of equestrian knowledge and experience to the horse section for more than 36 years. His commitment, expertise and friendship have been greatly valued by the Society, and his contribution to the Show over so many years will be fondly remembered.

Beyond the Show, Allan was also involved with the Guid Nychburris Festival Association, giving his time and support to the local community.

Our sincere thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his wife, Anne, his wider family and his many friends at this very difficult time.

He will be greatly missed by everyone at Dumfries & Lockerbie Agricultural Society.

THE J M ROME AWARD was presented to Thomas Mclean, Dumfries, pictured with Alison Brown who was presenting the trophies this year👏
This award is given annually for services to the local agricultural community, Tommy has built the showground for 52 years so it is a credit to honour his commitment to the show and involved many years before that too!💥

What a weekend! 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 Dumfries & Lockerbie Agricultural Show.
Whether you exhibited, competed, sponsored, traded, judged, stewarded, volunteered or simply came along to support the event, you all helped make it another fantastic success.

Our Show simply wouldn't happen without the incredible support of our community, and we are so grateful to every single one of you.
