All done for 2025. A big thank you to all the competitors over the week. Without the players there is no competition.
Winners of the trophies.
Men's Singles - Fergus Reynolds-Lewis bt Lewis Gilmour 6-3, 6-2.
Women's Singles - Isla McFarlane bt Anna Curtis 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.
Mixed Doubles - Eilidh Topping & Fergus bt Autumn Hodgins & Eamon McFarlane 6-1, 6-1.
Women's Doubles - Eilidh & Isla bt Charlotte Beattie & Kate Yeadon 6-2, 7-5.
Men's Doubles - Fergus & Lewis bt Chad Lawson & Chris Topping 7-5, 6-2.
Men's 45+ Singles - Colin Dunbar bt Brian Litster 6-4, 6-2
Men's 45+ Doubles - Chris and Bruce Todd bt Brian and Stephen White 4-6, 6-2, 10-1.
Women's 40+ Singles - Rebecca Topping bt Charlotte Beattie 6-1, 6-3.
We would also like to thank Knockenhair Hospitality for supporting the event with the café, Dumfries Tennis Club and Dumfries Sports Club for use of the facilities. All appreciated to keep the event going.

Finals day underway with both mixed doubles semi finals. We also have the historic trophies making their annual outing.

Our last day of the 2025 event starts tomorrow at 9am.
Plenty of local interest with Knockenhair Hospitality on site from 11am to 2pm/
9am - Mixed Doubles Semi-Finals
10am - Men's & Women's Semi-Finals
Last matches around 4pm.

Day 6 up and running as we welcome the players for the open and senior events.

In the morning we completed the 9s event and some great tennis from all.
Well done to all the kids with Rory Gilligan, Sam Mills and Ismail Nazim all winning 6 matches out of 7. Rory took 1st place by the smallest of margins over Sam in 2nd. Top girl went to Emily Hoey with Louisa Holliday taking 2nd. Cameron Smith, Eesa Mallick and Hannah Lorimer all playing well. Great effort from all. 👏

Day 4 is over. Today was all about the 16s and under players. In the boys event Edinburgh's Jack Fair edge past Kilmarnock's Harris Evans 6-2, 7-6. In the girls event local pair and training partners Autumn Hodgins (Dumfries TC) and Isla McFarlane (Castle Douglas) battled for just over 2hrs. Isla took the 1st set 6-1 then Autumn levelled taking the 2nd 6-4 before Autumn took the champ tie-break 10-4, outstanding match Ladies 👏.
In the doubles there were victories for Eamon McFarlane and Harris Evans and Autumn and Isla. Great day of play and well done to all.

The SoS resumes with one evening match tomorrow (Thursday) before we resume on Friday morning with the 9s with all adult events commencing from 12pm on Friday.

Day 2 completed after a wet start. In the boys 11s event George and Felix came 1st and 2nd again after doing the same on Sunday with the 10s event, Well done to all the boys. In the girls 11s singles Hollie Dixon-McCade edge a tight final again Jessica Hoey. Great final and well done to both. Hollie went on to take the 11s Girls doubles also with Tilly Taylor. 👏👏
Finally, we had a little fun doubles final with Cumbrian pair of Felix and Holly teaming up to win that again D&G pair of Calum and Haelan.
Again big thanks to Harry at Knockenhair Hospitality for their support each day with catering.

All ready to go. The 2025 South of Scotland Tennis Championship Dumfries Tennis Club kicks off tomorrow (13th) with the 10s and under boys and girls events. The boys event start around 10.30am with the girls due to join us around 12.30pm.
All spectators are welcome to come and watch some great tennis and we have onsite for lunchtime through out the week and Dumfries Sports Club is open from 1pm on Sunday.
