After much debate at Dramathon HQ we have decided to open a new discipline this October.

Yes, you guessed it. For the first time there will be a wife-carrying event for the last 10km of the Dramathon course.

Wives to be picked up at the Mash Tun at 12pm sharp on race day. Carriers and carried will be transported by bus as usual.

This event will come as a natural progression for many trail runners, already accustomed to carrying heavy camel packs equipped with snacks, drinks, navigation devices and pith helmets.

Please note that, in addition to the marital benefits of carrying one’s partner over several miles, the quality spirits you pick up at Glenfiddich in the Best Goody Bag in the World will seem to be even lighter than usual.

By the way, the Dramathon is an inclusive race and as such husband-carrying, or indeed partner-carrying of any kind, will also be permitted.

Did you know that distilleries have a "silent season" when they don't produce whisky?

Well this time of year is The Dramathon's silent season - entries are in, a bit of planning for the rest of the year, but things are pretty quiet, which is why you don't hear much from us.

But social media abhors a vacuum, right? So here we go, a few pics from Tamdhu, which is usually a tranquil spot but on Dramathon day there's a lot going on: the start of the Half Dram, a relay handover, a food & drink station, Full Dram runners slaloming through the chaos before tackling that hill up to Cardhu...
