We’re delighted to share that The Crafty Cheese Man has just received their first order of Droitwich Salt.

Founded by their ‘Cheese Guru’ Jonathan — a judge at multiple World Cheese Awards — The Crafty Cheeseman supplies exceptional British cheeses to restaurants, delis, cafés and pubs across the North West.

A business built on knowledge, care and a deep respect for flavour.

Now, alongside their carefully sourced cheeses, they’re offering Droitwich Salt to their customers too — harvested from some of the oldest and purest brine springs in the world beneath Droitwich Spa.

It’s always a pleasure to work with specialist suppliers who value provenance as much as we do.

If you’re a wholesaler or foodservice supplier looking to add a true British heritage product to your range, we’d love to hear from you.

Great to see Saltwic out and about at Vines Park this Easter...

Fire lit, brine bubbling, and a steady crowd gathering to watch salt being made the old way — properly.

They’re travelling the country bringing Droitwich’s salt story to life without breaking the immersion — no modern displays, just working salt pans, preserved foods and real conversation.

It’s the kind of thing you think you’ll glance at… and then realise you’ve been stood there for ten minutes.

They’ve been using our Droitwich Salt as part of their experience too, helping connect what we do today with where it all started.

From small set-ups to full living history camps, they’re sharing that story far beyond Worcestershire — and doing it brilliantly.

If you see them at an event, it’s well worth stopping.

Droitwich Spa was built on brine 🧂

For centuries, the town thrived thanks to its internationally renowned brine springs. From Medieval times through to the 20th century, salt shaped its economy, its reputation and its identity.

Today, that same natural resource still flows beneath Droitwich — and continues to define Droitwich Salt.

From ancient brine springs to modern kitchens, it’s a story of provenance, craft and proper flavour.

Next time you season a roast or finish a dish with a final flourish, you’re sprinkling a little piece of Worcestershire heritage.

Spring has officially arrived… and so has the season of fresh flavours 🌿

Longer days. Lighter dishes. The first roast with the windows open.

Spring is when simple ingredients really shine — new potatoes, tender greens, slow-roasted lamb… and even Easter bakes like hot cross buns and simnel cake.

A proper pinch of Droitwich Salt brings balance to sweet doughs, seasons your roast before it hits the oven, and adds that final flourish to asparagus or Jersey Royals just before serving.

Drawn from beneath Droitwich Spa, our salt has been elevating British kitchens for generations.

We love seeing Droitwich Salt used by chefs who care deeply about ingredients and craft – so a big shout out to Pale Kitchen and Arts in Ludlow.

Opened in January 2025, Pale Kitchen and Arts is a creative partnership between chef Clive, who runs the pastry-led kitchen, and his wife Janet, an artist who curates the arts side of the space. Together they’ve created a welcoming hub for food, creativity and community.

Everything in the kitchen is made on site and baked in small batches so pastries are served at their very best. Local favourites include their British custard tarts, vanilla custard cruffins and croissants – including the Tudge’s ham, Ogleshield and onion croissant .

Alongside the café, Pale Arts hosts monthly exhibitions of contemporary UK artists, and the second floor is used for workshops, yoga and community events.

We’re proud that Clive chooses Droitwich Salt as part of his commitment to using the best produce in his kitchen.

If you're nearby, they’re open Thursday–Saturday, 8am–2.30pm. Well worth a visit.

Give them a follow and share the love 👏

We were very pleased to welcome Sam Bilton Comfortably Hungry – podcaster, food historian and author – to Droitwich this week to interview our Salt Manager, Steve for an upcoming episode exploring the heritage of Droitwich Salt and its connection to the town.

Their conversation focused on how salt is produced here today, and how a craft rooted in centuries of tradition continues in a modern setting. From drawing the natural brine to gently evaporating it into the distinctive crystals we’re known for, Steve shared what it means to continue producing salt in the very place where it has shaped life for generations.

At the end of the episode, Sam asks her guests to bring a “virtual dish” to the table — so we’re looking forward to hearing which dish Steve chooses as his favourite to season with Droitwich Salt.

We’ll share details once the episode is live.

These brine springs have existed beneath Droitwich Spa for millions of years.🧂

From Roman and Norman times to King John’s Royal Charter in 1215, brine has shaped this town’s history.

The 19th century label shown here reflects Droitwich Salt’s international recognition as ‘Premier Class No 41’.

Today, we continue that legacy, producing one of the purest natural brine spring salts in the world.
