Is 2026 the year you’re going to make that dream of riding at St.Patrick’s Coast come true? Because now’s the time to start getting fit - our Pleasure Rides can take you from couch to canter!

Hurrah - the mornings are (finally!) getting lighter - and it’s time for the first Pleasure Ride of 2026 on Sun.18th Jan. at Shane’s Castle, Co.Antrim.
Entries are open to all (and filling up fast). Late entry fee will apply to any places remaining from Friday 16th Jan.
All are welcome (members and non members) at this gorgeous ride where you not only cross the Game of Thrones bridge but also get the chance to access Randalstown Forest (not normally open to horse riders).
And don’t forget the AGM Dinner/Awards night on Fri.6th Feb at Edenmore Country Club.

Congratulations Maggie! All our St.Patrick’s Coast riders will be familiar with Maggie from her long term support and sponsorship of the ride. She will be an enviable asset to the GBR Senior Team!

We’re delighted to share the news that Endurance GB has appointed Maggie Pattinson as Team GBR Senior Squad Chef d’Equipe. 🇬🇧🐴

Maggie brings decades of experience across endurance riding, from grassroots to international championship level. A former rider, coach and long-standing team manager, she is widely respected for her calm leadership, clear communication and unwavering commitment to horse welfare.

Her first championship leading the Senior Squad will be the FEI Endurance World Championships for Seniors in Al Ula in November 2026. Ahead of this, Maggie will attend the 2026 FEI Endurance European Championships for Young Riders & Juniors in Jullianges in a shadowing capacity — an important step as the same venue will host the Senior European Championships in 2027.

Speaking about the appointment, Maggie highlighted the importance of teamwork and preparation, recognising that success in endurance is built over time and relies on trust between riders, horses, crews and support teams. Her focus will be on developing depth within the performance pathway, while ensuring welfare remains central to every decision made on the international stage.

Endurance GB Chair Larissa Whiley and Performance Director Annie Joppe both welcomed the appointment, noting Maggie’s ability to balance experience, empathy and authority — qualities that will be vital as Team GBR prepares for future championships.

This appointment marks an exciting step forward for Team GBR endurance, as we continue to build a strong, sustainable future for the sport at international level.
