Hi there. Unfortunately I had to abandon my attempt after 10h30. I was swimming extremely well (by my standards anyway) until the wind changed direction and blew me further and further away from France. The time it was going to take to reach France was actually increasing with every hour despite me increasing my pace to trying and make inroads. I’m gutted I didn’t make it but super proud of my efforts. And until I can control the wind I’ll just chalk this one down to “That’s just how the Channel goes!”
Thanks a stack for all your support during this whole challenge. It’s what made me Cary on for an extra 2h30 when all my senses told me to stop.
You guys are awesome. Loads of love to you all.

Latest update from our skipper is go for tomorrow morning. 5am meet to make a final call on the weather. Hoping for a 6am swim start.

Hover over the “Swims” tab and click on “Live Tracking”.
You will see a little red balloon type character with the name of a boat next to it. Pathfinder is the boat I will be going with.
Pathfinder is not actively moving at the moment but if you click on the boat name a small pop-up screen will open.
At the bottom of the pop-up screen, click on the “View Track” link. This should open up a page that shows how I am tracking with my challenge.

As a heads up. The next post will have the instructions for following the live track. No boats out today so don't panic if you can't see any boat data. There is always the cspf website.

It looks like the swim will also not happen on Thursday. I'm having a great time living down in Dover for a few days with my parents. I'd obviously like to swim but hey ho. I've always loved nature and you take the rough water with the smooth water. La vita e bella!!

There was an outside chance of a swim tomorrow. However, the forecast is for stronger wind from 9am which is not ideal. Such a pity as the week looked great and today was perfect. We'll have another look tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.

Today's swim was filled with jelly fish. As I finished a lady on a canoe also informed me that for the last 100m I was followed by a playful and curious seal. I went back to find it but it was a bit too fast for me 😀
